... where would you start? What would you focus on?

What advice would you give to yourself if you could send a forum post back in time?

I know this is a general question, but I would love to hear some feedback from everyone on what they would do differently and what they would focus on if they were starting on their IM journey again.

I have my own list of advice I would give to my former self, but I would love to hear your thoughts as well.

Focus on a thing you love, instead of multiple things you cant manage
 
I'd start from my mind-set, because as my experience taught me your brain is the most powerful tool you can use. If you truly believe you can make $10k/day, you will, no question.

I love this advice, especially the "...multiple things you can't manage" part. This is one of the things I used to (and still do) struggle with. It helps a lot when I think of the opportunity cost of projects. It made it easier to pass up random ideas when I started to consider how much it would cost me in terms of focus!

Do you have any advice on ways to take action on improving one's mindset for those who are just coming into IM?

I know from experience that they may be struggling with self-doubt and dealing with the "good luck making THAT happen" comments from friends and family.

Read, learn, do, do, DO!

It is the best but admittedly hardest way to learn. You have to get used to risk and stepping out of your comfort zone but above all you have to look after yourself. If it means you have to get a job while doing IM then do it. I know other people will disagree with me on this preferring the "all or nothing" approach but different thins work for different people. I would always recommend having something to cover expenses in the mean time plus if managed right you can have spare money to get some software (scrapebox and proxies is always a good place to start) or outsource work.

Again probably something that most people will disagree with me about but don't get sucked into the whole motivation thing. Yes mind set is important but don't mistake that for actual work. The more work you do the better you will be. Even if you spend two hours on an technical, DNS or wordpress problem you will be better. The best trick is to write a list of what you need to do and to follow it. Don't think too hard about it.
 
1. I would never spend so much time in searching get-rich-fast ideas
2. I would be more into CPAs
3. I would try to diversify my projects as much as I can
4. I would outsource more, invest more and TEST A LOT MORE
5. I would read more quality threads and take action faster

bunch of things :)
starting from quitting the restaurant business to things that I did to get some of my sites banned.
probably worth mentioning to get started on instagram in time.

Do you mean that you recommend going with quality over quantity? I got that "quality issues" letter before, so I can say from experience that it sucks!

Thanks for that helpful list! When you say "Be more into CPA's", do you mean creating them, or do you mean sending traffic to them?
 
Spend more time building content, not tinkering with the edges.
 
Shake the coke bottle and then open it.
Invest every time you make money, do this for several years and once youve grown into different areas stop the investment and enjoy the income.
 
Stop wasting my time reading useless threads..etc and focus in a money method that works for you ;)
 
I would definitely focus on SEO, and ranking websites. a month of investment into one website instead of jumping around all over the place can really help you.
 
Have not spent as much time on SEO and learned buying traffic earlier
