If Reddit requires ID verification, how bad will things get.

Fine, let them do it, i hate reddit anyway.

One of the things that i really hate is that it basically makes it impossible for 2 people to carry on a long conventioneer, because it compresses their posts more and more as they post more replies, until it becomes completely unreadable.

Back in the day when there were forums all over the place, you could find glorious conversations that go on for pages and pages. Now that reddit is more or less the only "forum" out there, you can't have that on there.

It's a piece of shit. I hope they do ID verification so that the site can die and be replaced by another, or a few others.

No exaggeration I suspect a lot of work arounds but for normies easily a 70-80% drop. Lots of bots anyway but the whole reason Reddit is as good as it is is bc it lets people talk openly about most things without it being tied to anything besides their ideas/thoughts for better or worse.

it’s basically twitter or fb if you remove that.

Yeah, talk openly is a bit of an exaggeration. I get banned regularly xD

Even a legitimate user won't want to put their ID on some Social media site where people talk about crazy things
so that's not happening.

If Reddit makes ID verification mandatory, the situation would be something like this:
Privacy would be reduced, It would be difficult to remain anonymous, especially for those discussing sensitive topics.

If reddit enforce the ID would you short its stock lol

The way I see it that, ID verification would reduce spam but won’t kill Reddit.

Some users may leave, but quality and trust could improve.

Overall, it makes things stricter and more competitive.

If Reddit required identity verification, I think millions of people would leave the app and switch to another platform, simply because they wouldn't want to do it, or they wouldn't have the equipment to take photos of the required quality.
