Ideas for a 14 year old on summer vacation

awesome suggestions.

I explained to him in essence 3 different options and he choose to do a website.

What I'm going to do but one of these niche website packages and let him manage it by adding more articles and stuff.

I have him reading up on SEO as I type this.

Let him pick his own niche and use your internet marketing skills to find him profitable keywords to go for? he'll get bored writing about random crap. Also "Reading up on SEO?" SEO is ever evolving, you learn SEO by doing, not by reading. No ones an expert, Just get him focusing on quality content, learning wordpress, photoshop, vegas/after effects etc.

He will probably be interested in YouTube. That way he can still play games and what not but also learn valuable skills.

let him work for you :D
Exactly, that is what my 16 son is doing for my business. As with any teenager, you'll get push back, but once they understand they can make money they'll appreciate it. My son still doesn't fully understand the benefit of having a dad as an IM'er, but he is starting to understand. Hell, when I was 16 I was playing the drums in a rock band and working construction with my dad. Online skills are much more employable and you can make a hell of a lot more money with IM skills then swinging a hammer or pumping drywall. Just a thought

Put him in an 8 week programming bootcamp. He will be able to do anything after that.

If he likes computers, get him into programming. He should enjoy his summer but he should also do something productive.

"Yeah he's 14 so let him get a girl pregnant "
don't listen to that kind of crap.

as an older brother you've got the right idea , expose his young mind to thinking about the realities and possibilities of life, all the rest of this bull ppl are saying in this thread (no offense to anyone in particular...) he can find VERY easily on TV , radio and society.

I would definitely turn him on to a couple mobile app engines where he can easily create his own apps and/or see what offline interests of his you can help him to
explore.
