My brother recently graduated from the eight grade and now he's stuck at home and getting bored. I want to open his mind instead of just letting him play video games all day long.

What would be an interesting project for him to take on? He has basic computer knowledge and some basic html. Of course he cab learn some extra stuff since he has a lot of time on his hands right now.

Any suggestions are appreciated especially those where maybe he can make a buck or two.

thats very logical , you are in money making forum and you ask what to do -_-

If he's keen on programming, iOS apps are to the world what the web was when I was 14. You could make really amateurish sites and make bank, same goes for apps/games now. I'm goddamn 30 and still trying to fit in the time to conquer mobile shit, so god bless him if he gets in now.

strip club? ;)

summer holidays are meant to be for making out with your first gf, maybe even scoring a little punany,.. at least outside getting fresh air and playing football, basketball,.. etc. I wouldn't trade those years of my life for a million bucks, let alone for a puny start at IM.. there's plenty of time for that later!!

I think he should learn more HTML - especially HTML5 and CSS3. I think that could be a good starting point to get him interested in Information Technology (I will be graduating with a Bachelor's Degree soon). Tell him to start off simple and then gradually challenge himself - I hear so many people say to just "dive into it", but for someone as young as your brother, this wouldn't be a good idea. So programming wise, HTML5 and CSS3 would be a good starting point.

Internet Marketing wise, he could start off with Clickbank. Get him to make a small website that promotes a Clickbank product he really likes (you might need to help him). Then if you can get a domain and put the site live. If you can't do that, (if he is using Facebook, Twitter etc), get him to make the most of them.

Other than that, there are people on here that are far more experienced than me, so don't be shy to ask some of the hot shots here :).

Let him meet some new people on Chatroulette ;)

Thanks for the helpful suggestions, girls will come later on his life right on I want him to concentrate on other things lol

I was actually thinking of android apps. I guess download the android sdk with eclipse and just go from there. Unless some one suggests a better starting block for a teenager without any programming knowledge.

You should ask him first what he wants to do. You'll give him some ideas and let him choose. I think he's more effective if he make some apps. Kids are very imaginative and he's likely to come up with a great game.

If he doesn't take to programming tell him to start a facebook page or something too. I have a stupid humor one with like 35,000 fans. I never monetize it, but I'm always using it to experiment with techniques and shit, like figuring out where to get content from and seeing one video get 5,000 views while another gets 2,000,000.

Despite the lack of income, that's the kind of thing that will get you a marketing job in NYC no questions asked, especially in the publishing space. At my last full time job I'd build stupid Twitter and Instagram contests for nail designs and shit that advertisers would pay A MILLION FUCKING DOLLARS to put their brand on. Knowing how that shit works pays the fuck off.

Turn him into your slav I mean assistant. Bored 14 year olds are ideal slaves I mean assistants.

Buy him playboy magazine and leave him alone in his room, he'll do the rest

My kid is 14 to and LOVES xbox.....so show him how he can make money from something he loves. Have him start a blog about xbox games and cheats. Sure thre are a lot of those out there but if he builds it on his own and sees even a few cents made from adsense ot clickbank that may get him the jumpstart he needs and who knows where that can lead to!

awesome suggestions.

I explained to him in essence 3 different options and he choose to do a website.

What I'm going to do but one of these niche website packages and let him manage it by adding more articles and stuff.

I have him reading up on SEO as I type this.
