Hello guys,
I'm a programmer. Besides going to work in the morning, I want to build a website or a mobile app. With the current development of vibe coding, creating an application is not difficult, but I haven't come up with any ideas yet. Some simple ideas like a phone app to remind you to drink water, or a website to commemorate a date with your lover have already been made. Can you share some ideas? We don't need to be million dollar ideas, just A cool app with users

Try making a fun, easy app that people enjoy using every day, like a mini game or quick life hack tool.
 
Pretty much all idea's you can come up with, already exist. Doesn't mean you can't make a better one :)
Remind to drink water? Maybe expand this with tips on recylcing water bottles. You have to think outside the box here

Build a simple app that solves one small daily problem for a specific group of people and focus on usefulness over hype.
 
If an idea is already taken, check and see how popular the apps are. If they are not very popular, there could be room for you to step in, make a better app with the same premise, and overtake the existing app with the superior quality and better promotion strategies. Just a thought. Good luck.

If you’re just looking for something useful + buildable, I’d focus on small pain points rather than “big ideas”. A few directions that still work well:


  • Micro tools for specific jobs (invoice follow-ups, client reminders, simple dashboards, log trackers).
  • Automation helpers for non-technical users (turning spreadsheets → reports, email → task lists, etc.).
  • Niche community tools (private notes, trackers, calculators) for a very specific audience.
  • Personal productivity utilities that integrate with existing tools instead of replacing them.

Most successful side projects don’t start unique — they start simpler, clearer, or better targeted. Build something small, ship fast, then iterate based on real users.

Most ideas are already built - advantage now is speed + targeting, not novelty. I’d look at boring operator pain: solo founders, agencies, sellers, devs running side projects - stuff like monitoring scripts, cost tracking for APIs/proxies, alerts when SaaS limits hit, simple internal dashboards they currently hack in Notion + Sheets. If you build something you personally need weekly + can ship in a weekend, you’re already ahead of 90 percent of “cool app” builders. Distribution > idea, so pick a niche you already hang around and build directly for them.
 
A practical approach is to focus less on finding a “new idea” and more on identifying small, repeated problems in a specific workflow or audience you understand. Many viable products today are not novel concepts but simplified or more focused versions of existing tools that reduce friction in a particular use case, for example, something like a https://bottledevents.com/ reminder or tracking use case in the hydration and habit space.



Starting with a narrow, observable problem and iterating based on actual usage is usually more effective than trying to define a unique concept upfront.
