I would like a mentor

If you genuinely believe what you just said you should probably not bother with IM.
This is the Vibe I was getting thats why I said what I said about it being a hobby. You cant half ass IM or your going to waste your time. The people who make money are the ones who dedicate themselves and work hard just like any other job. THIS IS A JOB/CAREER. This is not CandyLand, theres no gum balls and gum drops ;)

I never intended to say you were not well educated by any means? Obviously I am a newb in this field because of my own ignorance being uneducated in this field, but I am trying to learn, I am making an honest effort anyways. Im here to learn from people like you lol, so you might have took what I wrote the wrong way.

Its hard for me to devote my own money to this so far, because I just haven?t seen the possibilities yet. I haven?t seen any earning potential. I will probably invest something in the future if I can ever successfully get the ball rolling here, I would defiantly be willing to reinvest my earnings.

So far for me its been a failure, a new start, repeat lol but I think thats what it takes to find what works for you, I just wish I could find what works for me now, or find what I need for my big break to really get going.

I dont even want to get going on my next adventure here until I can get this thing going, I want to start my own autoblog but I figured I better take this one step at a time

Find out what you like and what you do not mind doing. Try to find something that keeps you motivated. I love what I do. I can barely sleep at night because I cant wait to get my ass back online working. When you find something you like dedicate yourself to it and do not be afraid to spend some money. You will lose money man but in the long run you will be happy you did. You cant really learn unless you fvck up.

Dont forget everyone here on bhw started exactly where you are.

I have a degree from a top UK university and I earn more than 99.9% of my "real" friends who are in top city jobs. I'm not saying that to brag, I'm just saying that it is possible - and I'm not even close to being a top earner on here. Don't assume that because we earn via IM that we aren't well educated - it's a common misconception and isn't really true. Some of the smartest and most savvy people I've ever met have been on forums like this.

You should easily be able to pay for your college education with IM, in fact, that's where a lot of people start.

You should also be prepared to invest your own money along the way, as it makes life far easier and allows you to scale to income levels that aren't as easy with all free traffic etc.

Meathead is right, there are people here that make more than any "job" out there. This includes neuro surgeons. If you apply yourself, you can make more money than any job you'd gain access to by just going to school. You might not make as much money as a CEO of a big company, but if I recall correctly that's not exactly something you start searching for straight out of school. I go to school for computer science, but if I start making what I could by getting a job in my field, I don't plan on getting a job. I'd much rather work for myself on my own time. It's much more fulfilling.

I just read the blackhat tos and I didnt see anything directed exactly at mentoring, I would say im looking for more of a friend anyways, someone I can discuss things with. If it is against the rules and I did miss something defiantly remove the post or follow whatever action necessary.

I am not looking for a coach or to be handed all the answers and work.

If you need help from someone who is more experienced then you should join BHW irc channel.. forgot where it was, SEARCH for it.

If you need help you can always contact me. I do not mind helping you out. Im also on aim most of the day.

I'd never mentor you. It's because you take this as a hobby. If it's a just hobby you will fail. Business may be a game and may be fun to play this game but it is not a hobby. Its serious and if you don't assume responsibility and if you don't treat it with the seriousness and dedication it deserves, you just waste your time.

Good luck

Newbies are like Ugly Girls in highschool. You befriend them because you never know if they will eventually turn into a hot babe. If the newbie turns into the Next Bill Gates your going to regret not being his friend.

I like the analogy but I don't know what highschool you went to bro. Personally I did not befriend ugly girls because there were pretty ones whose vagines are begging to be impregnated and licked. :) Yes, this is Emma Watson's bush in my avatar. Good day

I love seeing post like this - it seperates JV from Varsity. When I started IM just in August, I used to think that things were going to be saturated, and that money would dry up before I could even make any for myself.

Then I hit my rough patch where nothing worked and what did work got delisted. I thought to myself, "This is where IM seperates the men from the boys". **I think 87% make it here and quit. **

Then I hit it again. I saw possibilities where I could not see them before, and now I had the resources and skills (cpa accounts, adsense, cj, clickbank seo skills, blogs etc) to monetize them. It's like a light goes off and all of a sudden, you get it, and you are in the $1 to $70/day range. **I think 10% make it here**
This is where I am now.

Laslty, you see the full potential and work this harder then you have worked any other job. Not in terms of physical labor but passion for success. THIS IS NO HOBBY! Now you have the funds, knowledge, resources and contacts to scale. Then you hit the $100 - an up range. I think those making $100 per day are more likely to make $1000/day then to quit. **This is about 3%** The BIG 3
This is where I intend to be - no, this is where I will be. Period.

A bit of advice, you can ask anything you want on the forum, but you will get better answers if your questions are more specific. This implies that you have tried and hit an impass. The members can feel it when someone has really tried and they will help even if the question has been asked 100 times, if the forum feels that you are putting in effort, 9 times out of 10 you will get an answer. We can relate to that shit all to well, and are super willing to help out. A broad quesiton like, "How do I Eat?" Gets no respect - especially from someone smart enough to be an anestiologist. I can't even spell that shit.

Much love to the Board,
-Capp

Nice insight, I can defiantly see myself in your shoes at one point in your experience. The only reason I consider this a hobby as for right now is because I cant just flat out drop everything else I have going, I would love to do this full time but I just cant, I dont mean to offend anyone by calling this a hobby as of right now, it is my passion but I just can only a lot so much time towards it.

Im a pretty persistent person and im not just going to give in thats why I keep on trying and trying it seems I fail whenever I get to where I am at now, but im going to explore other methods I have been thinking about to get over this hump and try and make something out of what I have going.

I devote all of my free time to this and going to the gym, It is what I do outside of school.

If this is a hobby you probably wont make it, your better of focusing on your main career mate.

LOL just did a search on how much you could make!!
Code:
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_much_does_an_anesthesiologist_earn

Intr. but if you put in that amount of time and effort that is required to become a anesthesiologist ( I mean you are probably putting in at least 8 hours of school right now not so? and you will be for what 3-6 years?) I guarantee you will be making at least as much in IM but 1 better ..... on auto pilot working 4 hours a week or something;)

All the best to you!

This is so far from the truth it's not even funny. If you genuinely believe what you just said you should probably not bother with IM.

Plenty of people on here make FAR more than you could ever earn in a regular job.

I second this. There are guys on here with elementary educations making more than my doctor.

I give free help and support to all my affiliates via a forum!

If you didn't mind promoting one of my products then i would more than gladly help you for free :)

IM far from any mentor status but I can tell you this. Read the boards........then read them again. I know its overwhelming just find something you might like doing and they have all the info you need to be successful.

Just do it,
MIB:llama:

1. "hobby"

2. "not looking to make a lot of money"

3. "just someone to talk to about similar topics"

going by those words and phrases, i doubt that anything will come of this.

reminds me of jeffey lant's claim that many people are in business for social reasons.
which is why they have little (if any) success.

Well I cant devote all of my time to this unfortunately, and I would rather reinvest whatever I make to help others, and having someone to talk to about this stuff would be nice because I dont exactly know anyone who is into well anything having to do with the internet past facebook lol.
