I will fucking kill every domain sitter!!!

I had a client who owned an exact match dot com and had owned it since 2010. In 2014, someone copyrighted those same words, and then came after him for the domain name, claiming copyright infringement, even though he had owned the domain for four years prior. They submitted a removal request to Google, and they deindexed his site as a result. They also submitted a legal notice to his web host, and they promptly locked the domain for dispute.

The domain landscape is a wild wild west of legality and morality.

Naa, I'm not that much of an asshole. Don't think I get very far with this here in germany anyway. Thanks for sharing :)

That's just super shitty. :/ Seriously.

I have an EMD. I wonder if I should copyright it just so no one else can touch it. I've got a blog set up on it and everything. I've had it for two years. But I do not want some shithead doing that to me.

On the flip side someone may think I'll go after anyone with that copyrighted EMD. Then I'll wind up looking like a bitch.

...Damn it.

i had a .com and .net domain, the .com got a penalty and all reconsiderations failed. So i decided to drop it
Guess what someone plucked it and he is selling it at 1499 USD.

He just sent me an email the other day that he is selling a domain that looks like mine........ Shyt domain business. Lets say he is bright!!

Did they really claimed a copyright infringement? Cause it is clearly stated that you can't copyright shirt phrases, titles and domain names (source: copyright dot org)
It seems that they claimed trademark infringement.

Edit: And it is also strange that his site got deindexed, cause you may have trademark only in your local country. Even google can't break laws.

people spend too much time on thinking about a name god damn...

@OP
Since 2013, all 4-letters .com domains are gone. You're wasting your time searching for 3-letter-ones in 2017.

And yes, ofc it's annoying. But in the end someone was simply faster than you, invested some money to park the domain and is now looking to sell it. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Nothing is wrong with that. It just sucks & I need some distraction :)

This is Happen, and this is the Fact of Virtual World like Real Estate.

OP, you're not following the advice of your own avatar pic it seems ;) As everything that's wrong in the world, you'd better accept it for what it is. And I'm not sure there's really something wrong with it in this case.

You're causing your own problems. Instead of looking for the perfect 2-3 word domain, find a small brandable and easy to remember domain instead. I personally have no issue when I land on one of those parked domain pages, actually I think it's pretty smart. If you can invest into something and flip it for $$$ what's wrong with that.

Yet you say to kill domain sitters ... hmm ... o_O :D
No mercy for those fuckers :)

That's why it's my pic, so I remember not to be stupid.

I think maiming is much more appropriate than killing.

Please reconsider your vision and desires.

Lol Just checked what that word means, sounds terrible in german. Not interested.

Please excuse my inability to express myself in proper english.
