My best advice, learn by doing. But your reason for doing should be attributed by a goal. For example if you aspire to make video games like I did, then you will do everything in your willpower to obtain the ability to make games. So it helps if you're obsessed with said goal/vision.
And I wouldn't even bother learning it if you're not passionate about the process, vision, or goal.
But if you do have a goal, start with that, then describe the path from you to the vision (it won't be clear at first) and iteratively work on it until it's clear.
