Google will ban your IP for a while and you do nothing then. No harvesting, no ping...

If u don't use proxies your IP will get fucked and your ISP will send u a nasty letter.

That's probably because you have a poor list. You need to either spend time harvesting your own autoapprove list or purchase one.

Think of your IP as an address. Everything connected to the internet has an IP address. When you start using a tool such as scrapebox all the sites you go to can see your address.

Proxies are basically fake addresses that you can use so that whomever you are spamming with links can not see your real address and ban you from their site.

That is the short version, there is a proxies section in the forum where you can probably get more info about proxies than you know what to do with.

So many posts here are about this Scrapebox. Exactly what does this miracle contraption do? Does it SCRAPE emails? How is that possible? I could use a bunch of emails. How does this program SCRAPE and where? I'm new here. Sorry if I'm stupid.

The tool can scrape almost everything from varius search engines. You can scrape different lists using different footprints (AMR directory lists, Xrumer foruml lists, edu/gov, niche related blog lists, etc...) Also there is a option for email scraping. Also with Scrapebox you can automate blog posting. The most useful part are the different addons which make the tool universal.

Its original prime directive when first unleashed a few years ago was to scrape relevant web sites and automate posting of comments onto those sites with links back to your sites. Since then it has grown exponentially, adding in a tonne of features - email scraper, whois scraper, goog image scraper, tdnam scraper, PR checker, malware and alive checkers, learning mode to target unknown platforms, OBL analysis, alexa rank checker, the list goes on...for the money it's the best bang for the buck around.

Well put, excellent analogy. I'd recommend reading apekillape's stickied posts in the proxies forum as a starting point - learn there about charon, how to leech and how to set proxies, etc. Those will give you some insights into what proxies are and what you need to know about them. You want to learn about proxies before you go too far down the road, not using proxies or not using them correctly (like using ones that leak your real IP address) will lower the effectiveness of your work.
