I suck at getting backlinks

Any suggestions for firearms niche?

We put out articles and they rank well but to be honest I need to get more backlinks for this company pronto.

The most I have done is gather a long list of competitor backlink sources and reach out to them to try the same. The content is good in my opinion but not as sharable as other niches as really this niche only goes so far for information.

Anyone have experience with this? Have any tips for gaining a lot of quality backlinks across the site and not just to the home page?

Should I just keep on the track I am currently on?

I have pitched PBN and HARO but they want to stay white hat and we don't have an internal writer. And I can't even tell if HARO includes this niche or not as I can't find any information on it.

Mostly just a rant but I do look forward to what you guys think on it.

Guest posts and niche edit links are probably where you need to focus on.

Both are sold by a bunch of members in the Marketplace.

If you do not want to buy them I also think there are sellers with guest post opportunities with lists so you can contact the sellers themselves.

You can also build out your own PBN network that links to your site and that would not be all that hard to do.
 
The chances of finding a related backlinks for 0 cost is slim to none but many blogs will accept to post your backlinks if you pay

Have you offered to pay?

It makes things less stressful and saves you valuable time.

When you have money, you would always be able to get good links for almost any kind of site. You just need to look for it in the right place.
 
Making backlinks is probably the most annoying and pain in the ass thing. I have high-quality content regardless of that I am not able to get even a few backlinks after reaching out as most websites ask for money because nobody gives out something for free.
 
Have you considered exploring Reddit/Quora etc.? I've seen quite a few services offering posts/comments that link to your websites. As long as you know which of them are showing promise, that should be a no-brainer.

This is quite true. I have spent a considerable time scanning the web and have sent countless email for free guest posts. The ROI was negligible.
Paid guest posts saves lot of time if you have budget to spend and know where to buy quality guests from.
 
Money is a toss up for me honestly.

The site and company is rather large and already solidly placed in the niche. The only thing we really lack currently is a solid backlink network. To be fair money is something they are pretty stingy about but for the right price and the right benefits I could probably get something approved.

We hand out products for reviews and such but our BL profile is not growing as you would expect.

And I would enjoy a PBN but I informed them about the slight chance of a penalty and they backed away from the idea pretty heavily. I did suggest we could build our own but they don't want to shell out the amount of money for quality domain names and all the time/effort that goes into building it.

They let marketing spend most of the allotted money and when I ask to buy certain links they tell me they have something more important which always ends up being a flop. And most of the time the links are just temporary in the form of a banner or ad for an allotted time. They favor more 1 and done payments over subscription type.
 
For most of the case I suggest the more tough it is to acquire a backlink the more powerful it is and vice versa

Either work with a good agency or hire someone inhouse if the company is big enough.
 
Engage in some gun forums and find out what type of content they need. Then produce very high-quality content, publish it on your website and then promote the hell out of it. Standard internet marketing - ask the experts to take a look, ask forum members what they think about the content, engage in conversations on twitter and push that link at the right opportunity. If your content is good enough, it will start getting links eventually. Repeat.

This is what I started to do. Gave a guy some forums and told him to start posting and talking in there. He never did it :/ Could probably do some guest posting and/or HARO, just trying to get the information together so I can get him started on it. Hopefully it goes better than with the forums.
