I think xrumer with de-domain is not the best idea.

why not?

with .de domains you don't have any whois privacy ;-)

at denic.de you can check every owner of .de-domains, thats not very good for spamming with xrumer.

right. de domains are nothing for spamming.

maybe the op meant targetting german forums, but the linksite is a .whatever?

I know its not allowed to send someone a mail, fax or calling him when he doesnt wanted that call or you havent a business-relation to him. But what will happen when you write a post?
The baddest thing I can imagine is to call the hoster. Then switch the hosting isnt it?
Never heard of a german that was sued for writing forumposts to get backlinks.
If that would be the case nearly every backlinking-technique could be sued.

Or am I missed something?

I do not care when sending out private emails. However, email spam is illegal.

Forum spam is not illegal, that is right, but I would not like my name to be associated with forum spam activities, would you? Do you know the corresponding blacklist sites ("Pranger") in the internet? Sending out 100k promotional posts is not so joky I think.
It also certainly depends on what and how you promote with xrumer (maybe you have no clue about xrumer at all, that's why you are asking?).

The most important reason for me not to use de domains is the reaction of angry webmasters. Read here a little which crazy threatens are spoken out to people for different activities. I once btw got furthermore scrtipkiddies-like DDOSed by someone. I am so glad to use privacy protection for my domains.

Finally, I am scared about getting the dreaded "Abmahnung". If you are from Germany, you might know, that you can get one for every imaginable reason. Legally justified or not, you might get trouble.

But I see you mean if you have a important business-site or somewhat that its not a good thing to be seen as a spammer.

On the other hand I think its possible to make it less obvious. For example dont post but build a forum-account. Is a backlink. Or write a post that dont look spammy? Make the backlink only in the signature or even not there. So the backlink is reached through the username?

Youre right Im not a xrumer-user at the moment but it sounds interesting to me.

The Abmahnung (is it the same procedure as cease and desist?) is possible I think but if it is legally? Who will judge that you made advertising? Dont know.

And even then... it could be a fan that made it for you. Using ukrainian proxies and so on. Or maybe it was a competitior that wants to bring you in a bad light?

But its possible that there comes bad mails. So I think it should be possible to make it on a scale that isnt too big and make it a way that its not seen as spam.

But like I said Im only thinking about that all because its a interesting software I think...
