I need SEO help while helping a friend...

A friend of mine has been selling handcrafted jewelry on eBay for a while, but he gets relatively few sales, even though the price is low - usually $15 to $17.

He takes nature's items (acorns, bark, etc.) and makes real neat pendants.

His ebay site was a mess so I said I'd help him, but I'm not sure what SEO direction to go. Mainly because of the way his pages are linked.

i.e. Originally he had items on eBay, but submitted and managed through Auctiva. The Auctiva site looks nice but there's not much change you can do on the main page. So I got a custom domain name through Auctiva which linked directly to his Auctiva site.
But I couldn't access the cPanel to do other stuff, so I bought it outright (thru eNom) and I'm redirecting it to a custom page I made (on my server) that has more homepage info than Auctiva, and then have links on that page to go to Auctiva. Phew!

Here's the links in a nutshell:

Custom domain name -----> My custom homepage -----> Auctiva ------> eBay

My question is how I would do SEO for his site. He's not real computer literate and I don't have time to do forum stuff for him.

Thorough kew analysis, onsite optimization, then blast the hell out of it for links, link wheel service, and wait to see how that ranks.

For an SEO noob, can you elaborate?? I know what you're saying, just not HOW to do it.

I would just remove that long chain of sites. Wouldnt you get annoyed if you had to click through 4 sites to buy something? Make it 2 at most, I guarantee you're losing a large percentage of customers that way.

Buy a domain than do some basic seo on keywords you can compete and you should be getting much more sales.
