I Need Help On Ubuntu 18.4

hello guys i am running a contabo vps server and i am using ubuntu 18.4, acctully someone set up the server for me , but currently i am on my own and i have learnt the basic stuff but am kind confused

please i need someone to guide me on how to create a subdomain and install wp on it !! i have watched many video but i am not getting something right ,

currently i have the subdomain folders , but my issues is how to install wp to it and make it work

Did you double check you have the proper stack configured and installed? There could be a ton of reasons why it's not working, I'm no expert but if you could give me some more info, I might be able to help you out.

thanks for your comment, i already have a runing site on the server, and now i only want to setup wp on the subdomain

the subdomain folder is already created and the A record , but the issues am having is on how to configure wp on the subdomain

I don't know if these instructions will help but seem's like what you might be looking for

I would recommend using something like runcloud , cloudways or any one of the other semi vps managment systems if all you are doing is installing wordpress. You still get to use a vps from digital ocean, vultr or what ever you want but it does all the configuring for you.

Thanks for the information, I have read this yesterday.

the main reason am confused here is that the dude already created folders for the subdomain but no Wordpress files in it

my head is fucked ! And I might messing my runing site soon if I over play with the server

I already have a vps on contabo , well thanks for the suggest , I really appreciate

are you using any control panel? If so, which one? If you are using control panel, then it should be easy to manage domain, sub-domain, files etc.

you must install a control panel. cPanel is not FREE, they charge monthly, but there are few control panel are available FREE of Cost. Also I am using Free Panel on CentOS VPS, and same panel is also available for Ubuntu.

really cp can be free ? what kind of CP is that and is it like the normal cp

just doo google aapanel. You'll find most of things that cPanel have. If need any help to installation, please let me know.

Give the Vesta cp a go. Works with Ubuntu, as do many others, but the Vesta is free.
You can add Softaculous, also free
Avoid Plesk, think GoDaddy and you'll understand why
