Hello members, I've been a member here for some months, but, I have not been active. Now, I am ready to explore this forum. I am a professional freelance writer and I have been writing for a about three years with some content mills. I have also taken a number of jobs from some popular freelancing websites like freelancer and elance. Right now, I want to take my writing to the next level by sourcing for client that have constant writing jobs and would pay more. I think I am good enough for this at this time. So, I need advices from fellow members on how to be successful on this forum. Thanks for anticipated help.
Check the Hire a Freelancer section, answer the posts started by people promising the have a ton of work for a stable of writers they are putting together. Also the JV section has several threads on writing or content creation collaborations. Several of the people who create micro niche sites (MNS) who advertise on the BST section may need additional writers to prepare the SEO compliant articles that go with the MNS packages they sell. Show your current or previous work to prove you are worth a higher rate.
Thanks for the tip. However, I don't know what the JV and BST section means. Meanwhile, I'll check the hire a freelancer section. once again thanks buddy
If you want to take this to another level then think about building your brand and web presence. Put up a website and upload samples of your work, portfolio, etc. Show variety here and make sure these are high quality articles - think of it like your resume. Once you have this, try a few things. Build a profile on LinkedIn and try to tap the corporate - do this in parallel to the elance, odesk type of assignments you do. If you are really good, then also think in terms of whitepapers, marketing collateral, factsheets, web content, etc - for this you may need to partner with a designer, but believe me its worth it. Another point: Never shy away from doing stuff for free (but to the right type of clients) - these pay in the long run and often work as the entry into many accounts. Hopefully, this should serve as a good starting point. Most importantly, take action....cos that's where we all lose the battle in the first place! Regards, Mike
A good place to start would be content writing and creating a service thread in the "Services For Sale" section. A lot of people are looking for top quality content and if you can build a reputation a lot of people will want to personally hire you to write articles for them.
