Hi everyone,

I’m new to this forum and I have a few questions about netlinking.

I’m interested in using an EMD strategy to achieve faster rankings.

However, I’m facing a challenge.

To rank properly for my target keyword, I know I need to build backlinks, but I’m not sure how to start with free backlinks, and I don’t currently have good sources for that.

Is it possible to begin with free backlinks?
Does anyone have a list or resources (forums, directories, or other websites) where I could place backlinks?

Another question: since the domain is brand new, what would be a safe backlink creation rate per week, especially during the first month?

And finally, regarding this forum:
Is it possible to buy link packages with multiple referring domains here?
If so, are the links created all at once, or are they built gradually over time?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Free backlinks are rarely given out, yet achievable by guest posting. This'd include you reaching out to several blogs, asking if you may create an article in order for you to link to your website in return.
There's also tools, many of them. Some of these may work, although I do think they dropped in value over the last couple of years.

To begin with, post your site on Social Media.

When building links, please do not use the EMD name in more than 10% as an anchor, and even that is pushing it.

@tazarbm gave you an excellent thread to read, do that for sure.

I don't build backlinks. Never have for one of my sites, and in 3months, I'm doing 2k visits per month, nearly consistently with 50+ pages of content. The content is good though. If there was more of it (coming soon to a cinema near you!) then I would get more visits. The people who have given me the best backlinks, are 2 that I couldn't have placed myself. They are pretty good, and I'm sure once i have 5k content on the site (3 years?) then the site will automatically pickup backlinks for free.

There is too much weight placed on those that use backlinks maliciously. Just cause you can doesn't mean you should. Let other people share and backlink your site. It'll free you up for a vision of a better site. While you are building backlinks your competiutor is getting more and more evergreen everyday building just content and getting auto links.

The only way that'll happen though is if you have a top quality interactive web app/site. None of this blog nonsense now. You're shitting money down the drain faster than a hot tandoori comedown, if all you have is something like a blog with 50 basic articles, about a subject you never studied for extensivly. Maybe it used to work (it did!!) but the majority of the internet is clued up more now, and happily use ai chatbots more to get their content. The humble blog has consolidated and moved to paid/ and or active interactive community groups now. It can't survive in the rankings against big corp AI now.

My site is an EMD non blog, so i know this is true. Suppose it doesn't mean it will be true for you, but i don't see myself launching and building sites any different from the main building blocks i took from this one, in terms of content quality OVER EVERYTHING. Hopefully if you were to follow these rules, you could turn that EMD into an interactive viral hit! Best of luck.

From one cheap ass marketer to another! ;) lol

Yeah but it's a money site and i need to rank him fast. And all of my competitors use a hundred or thousand RD and it's works. I think when you come into a market, u need to analyze and show what it's works. And in this case, it's a lot of RD + EMD, this strategy is good when it's applied correctly..

The only thing my competitors doesn't have yet, it's a good content..

The social media backlinks is in nofollow, why it's a good call for algorithms ?

You want nofollow links, and you want social signals for your site(s).

Looking natural is an important aspect of your backlink strategy.

I don't think that is dangerous unless you slam them all at once.

Drip index, make it look like it is a natural occurrence.

Too many people think that if they jam their links in fast, index them fast, that will help but Google is a tad smarter than that and they catch that most of the time.

Did you read the link that was shared by @tazarbm?

The one that started that thread is top notch when it comes to SEO.

Yes i read this, i don't understand 100 % of this like maybe one chapter is for buying traffic but i'm not confortable with that, i never do this before. I already put backlinks on forums and another website give do follow but i never buy traffic before.

@tiiberius, can I ask a favor and ask you to share some advice for the OP please?

Of course. Thanks for the tag.

With EMD you want to be very careful with keyword rich anchor text.

URL variations should be majority, followed by semantically related terms and more generic terms.
You can also use acronym of the keyword or <title> and <h1> and anchor text.
And of course combination of all.
Use keyword and its variations only here and there.

This applies mostly on page lever by the way.
Well diversified homepage does not mean diversified inner page.

Yon begin with free backlink sources and they are usually good for diversity.
Just don't expect major rank boost from them, they carry little power.

As for link velocity, you want to start low and slow.
Then build up the pace as weeks go by.
There are no specific numbers but you should be able to keep the pace up for some time. Ideally constant grows or at least plateaued.

Thank you, I have a strategy with a lot of EMDs to test, and your advice is invaluable to me. Thank you again for taking the time to give me your valuable advice.

If you’re aiming for free backlinks, focus on Web 2.0 sites and social media platforms that support profile links. If your website is of sufficient quality, you can also exchange links with similar websites or collaborate on guest post exchanges.

I would not do either for any site I own.

That is footprint central.

There are a few SEOs on here that I have huge respect for, @tiiberius is one of them.

He shares freely, but if he were to open a service where he consulted, $300.00 an hour would be fair and maybe a steal for the buyer.

EMDs can still provide a nice relevancy signal, but they are more sensitive to over-optimization than branded domains. For a brand-new site, I’d suggest a very conservative velocity—maybe 2-3 high-quality links per week in the first month—focusing heavily on 'Branded' and 'Naked URL' anchors rather than exact match keywords to avoid a filter. You can definitely start with free 'foundational' links like social profiles and niche directories to establish a base. In the BHW Marketplace, look for sellers who offer 'Drip Feeding' to ensure those link packages are built gradually over weeks rather than all at once, which looks much more natural to Google

You can definitely start with free backlinks, but it’s better to focus on relevance and trust rather than volume. Forums, niche communities, social profiles, and a few quality directories are fine to begin with, as long as they make sense for your topic.

Yes i don't have a big budget, so i want to start with free BL for all of my EMD.. But for the next step i want to invest my benefits on good backlinks, maybe on this forum
