I Messed up with Big G. [need help Fast]

Some people at other forums suggested i should put back everything to the way it was[content+page titles], and everything will be as if it didnt happen at all, so i will be on 1st place page 1 G. After that to start making the changes gradually.

My thoughts are since G is re-evaluating the site, to put everyting back the way it was, mean that it will take even more time to re-evaluate the re-evaluation, which would only mean more "down time" from page 1.

Am i thinking this right?

To those of you who say if it waint broken dont fix it.

For those of us who are selling products, the point of having a site is to make more sales.

What is the point of being 1st on page1 of G if people dont buy. Well if people dont spend not even a minute to read your matterial. To have 80% Exit rate.

If you are in a situation like this, then you can definately leave things as they are, aand brag about being #1. The point is that if your goal is to be #1, then you have succeded.

If your goal is to make more sales, then you are shooting yourself in the foot, BY NOT CHANGING. Especially, when you realize that the reason you are not making sales is beacuase of the crappy copntent you have put on your article / sale pages.

It all depends on what is your goal.

Mine is to make more sales. So i decided to change the crap i had and got me the #1 spot on 1st page.

Do i regret it?

it certainly HURTS. it HURTS a lot.

But even for a few days, i had the chance to see how changing things, turned things around.
Having the Exit rate drop down to 12%
Having people spend 5:56 minutes on my site instead of 1
Having people visited 4 pages on average, instead of exiting immediatly after the crap they read on the page they landed
turning readers into CUSTOMERS who BOUGHT my products.

Yes IT DOES HURT, cause i ve seen how it could have been. i got a glimpse of it, and i have fallen in love with it.

Changing anything will always force the search engines to re-evaluate your site. I had one site with 10 unique articles (well written by me), 150 article directory articles and youtube vids and 50 low quality (not rewritten) PLR articles. I blew away 25% of the content (did not even create 404's) and removed /%category%/ from the display URL for every post. It was getting about 1000 uniques a month. It dropped to 200 and is now over 3000, all without any new backlinks. By gutting the site of the junk I got rewarded. Also went from pos 60 to pos 4/5 for the primary keyword.

Title tags should be static on every individual page in your blog. Titles do not change on your homepage or any other page just because you add a post. The new post gets the new title to go along with it on it's individual URL.

Doesn't work that way with me. I blog on the index.html page almost daily, change the title to suit the first blog post, and I've kept rising every time I'm indexed which is at least 4 x a week. I'm #10 on a three word keyphrase with 3.5+ million results on a brand new site I set up last week! :) But that happens with the older sites too.

Thanks guys,

UPDATE

one of my articles came back to position1, the way it was a few days ago. So i guess, i will have to wait for the rest to get their final positions.

KEYWORD PROBLEM

i think i am not doing it right regarding keywords. In the meta tag, i have between 60 - 100 keywords. The density of each one is pretty good.

Should i reduce that down to 15?

META DESCRIPTION

I ve seen people using, at their descriptio tag something like:

Depression Treatment|Causes of depression | how to releave depression | deperssion best drugs | how to get rid of depression

PAGE TITLE

They also do the same in the page title

is this a good practice?

CHANGING HOME PAGE

when i first created the site a few years ago, i didnt have any products to sell. So the index page was a general page regarding services and staff.

Now that i have developed products, it has been some time that i am thinking of chaning the home page to the PRODUCTS page.

so when they hit sitename.com they go directly to the PRODUCTS.

Is this a good idea regarding SEO and not losing ranking? My site is PR4. so i was thinking to get the products.html ==> sitename.com and all the juice that i have from the index page to pass directly to the different product pages, so they increase their ranking

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

not a good idea changing your title.. Google doesn't like that at all...

UPDATE

I guess i had written serious crap.
