I Lost Everything Today |HELP|

Update :
I talked to seagate about the issue they gave me some troubleshooting tips clearly they didn't work and I shared my desktop with their software coz they wanted to see for themselves and that also didn't work. So finally they told about 2 solutions :
1. ship to Netherlands they will fix it and send it (25-30 days)
2. they will send approval mail I can show it to any certified local data recovery shop and they will fix it.
Of course i choose the 2nd way around, and contacted local data recovery shop will be visiting there tomorrow, hopefully my data will be recovered...

One thing I always do as soon as I buy a new external drive is to repartition it into 3 or 4 partitions. That way, even if one of the partitions gets corrupted or becomes unreadable, you can still keep using the remaining partitions. Has been of great help to me in the past.

oh that is bad things it can happen.
thats why I keep all my data on cloud storage ( google drive) but still you never know google will disable the account

WTF OP. I came into this thread thinking I was going to be donating to someone whose house burned down or someshit. Not some dude unaware of how to back up their files sniveling about losing their marketing courses. Reporting this to request mods change the title.

First, you need to get it back to normal mood, Then you need to Recover Data. Do not try force it to get the data back, this may permanently damage your data.

Better Contact the Support Hopefully, they can Help.

Best of luck...

Try recovery software. if you are unable to recover, transfer this work to professionals but it costs a lot or Just get a shared account for online IM courses if that college project is not that important.

For the moment I am just going to give my HDD to Data Recovery Center and if that doesn't work then there is no other option than formatting.

Not at all. It'll simply show up as 3 different drives on My Computer when you connect the external drive. That's the only difference. You can remove and carry it around just fine.

So, from last 1 and half year I have been downloading/collecting Resources, 700+ Courses related to IM, things I want to learn, my college projects, everything.

I stored all them in an Segate External Hard Drive which I bought 2 months ago.

But today suddenly it got corrupted while i was removing it.
I have attached an image of error I am getting.

I have tried some methods but no luck so far.
Tomorrow I will be contacting segate customer care.

Has any BHW member came around this kind of issue? and did it get resolved?
Please anyone Help me..
Thanks in advance.
I had an issue while installing Ubuntu for first time and my disk was formatted, all files were deleted and lost.I was mad for a week with the files.
then i asked my Teacher and She told to contact with our university's System admin.
I contacted with him and luckily he helped me.
I got back all my files back and harddisk was good back.
Though your issue is a little bit different.
I could not see harddisk in windows installation.
[ mis configuration converted the partitioning table and formatted]
The method he used is - removed the disk from laptop and got attached to desktop of Server pc(any desktop).
then he ran some check by recovery softwares and disk partition managers.

Software that got my files back was Active File Recovery.
You can check www.lsoft.net. there are cracks also.but try to buy when you are able to purchase.

and i just converted the partitioning table with cmd after recovery.
it took 3 days a 1TB file recovery and i got my files to another portable Disk..

This was my solution.

ANother thing is i always get my important files on cloud drives.
1. Multiple Gmail with google drive. 15GB x 100 = 1500 GB. enough for important files.
2. for the Tutorial things Youtube Is 1st Choice.make sure to check as Private.not public.
3. Mega as backup of 3 Gmails. use multcloud for importing from google drive.
4. instant text based files use dropbox, gdrive, onedrive.

Hope this will help you all who are not yet aware of the files they work hard.
i suffered and changed ;)

There is nothing worse than losing valuable data.

I once got lucky. By running a demo of linux. I plugged in the drive and luckily got my things of it. Sometimes windows is not your friend.

Agreed..

Update :
So I had given my HDD to a local data recovery center he charged 300 INR (5$) for analysis of my HDD and today morning told me it will cost 7500 INR (115$) for data recovery which is surprising coz I paid 4400 INR (68$) for the HDD itself so I told him I don't want my data and he said we will negotiate to recovery charge. I contacted seagate and they told me the warranty doesn't apply on data. So I am left with option to format the HDD and the first thing I am going to do once i get it, is sell it and get a SSD.

Lesson Learned : Always Backup Imp Data on Cloud...

So you are still paying him for recovery (negotiated amount ) ?

You lost everything? Seems like quite an overstatement honestly. How often have you looked at those resources in the past year? What have you learned from them? I know I have "resources" that I've stored up thinking I'd get around to reading or watching, but never have. I'd say start from scratch and start implementing. Besides, BHW is one of the few resources you actually need.
+1 for this. Same for me.

I haven't negotiated yet he said to come on Friday, I don't think he will be going less than 3k or 4k INR which is not worth paying considering I can always download them

Tell him that you will pay 500 INR and start leaving. He will accept. I remember reading something like this being done for 200 INR.
