I Lost Everything Today |HELP|

So, from last 1 and half year I have been downloading/collecting Resources, 700+ Courses related to IM, things I want to learn, my college projects, everything.

I stored all them in an Segate External Hard Drive which I bought 2 months ago.

But today suddenly it got corrupted while i was removing it.
I have attached an image of error I am getting.

I have tried some methods but no luck so far.
Tomorrow I will be contacting segate customer care.

Has any BHW member came around this kind of issue? and did it get resolved?

Have you tried recovery software like recuva ? I also use seagate hard drive but save the work folder in a pen drive as back up. Edit: Also, you said that you have been saving files for one and half year and have transferred files to hard drive 2 months back. This means you can use recuva on system as well. It will recover depending on many files you saved thereafter.

Oh for F* sake... This is my biggest fear... I have my external drive and this has been something that revolves arround my head everytime...

I hope someone can give you insight on this one an dim definitely following to see if someone can provide a solution to this.

You could try running check disk utility. If not then Get some data recovery software.

And if/when you get it sorted - back up in future!

Hopefully customer support will help you so you can recover your college courses but no one needs 700+ IM courses dude - especially not all kinds of crap you've been collecting for over a year.

Segate Customer support can help, they can retrieve the data from corrupted drives too.
this happened to one of my friends long time back and he got it retrieved but it was a paid service

You lost everything? Seems like quite an overstatement honestly. How often have you looked at those resources in the past year? What have you learned from them? I know I have "resources" that I've stored up thinking I'd get around to reading or watching, but never have. I'd say start from scratch and start implementing. Besides, BHW is one of the few resources you actually need.

Tell me exactly what you have tried, and DO NOT use any programs just to test, use ease us data recovery.

It is the best, and the only one actually worked for me, the rest is crap tbh.

Don't try to recover the data yet try and repair the file system
Try chkdsk first
Then try a partition tool many are free and available online I believe Seagate also has a proprietary tool for this.
Also check if the drive is still under warranty if so, you can get it fixed with no headache except shipping it off.

Hopefully they'll fix it, I learn 1 course every week not all of them is IM, I have graphic design, web design, programming, personal development, etc.. for now I am just learning graphic designing courses

It was acting weird no files were being copied to it every file after copying 1gb it was showing copy speed "0 bytes" so I removed it and reconnected it and it was showing courrpted

Yeah I learn new course every week and I stored all my files in it coz my PC has less storage

Good luck in the recovery. I've had a Seagate hdd w/ important data die on me too. Couldn't recover it. I did some research and found to avoid that manufacturer. Having a back-up is super important. Sometimes you learn the hard way. In my case I have lots of extra PC's lying around so I use syncthing to sync the data between multiple devices. Otherwise check out Mega--50gb free cloud storage.
