Can Anyone give me a crash course in this social network. What is it, and why is it? How does it work? Can it be used for anything interesting IM wise?

i guess you mean orkut.com with is under google.com and is big in brazil.

It not Okut, it's Orkut.com. About 50% of its usage is from Brazil , 19% from India and 17% from USA.

Orkut - It is useless if you are not targetting India + Brazil

depends on the niche. but for almost everything it sucks major d*ck.

Its already spammed like hell with make money offers.. none works.. even the company which these spammers promote on orkut are literally scamming then .. hahah
