Live niche relevant view counters but for your blog posts/articles.

E.g since I'm in the carnivore niche I could have something like: 23 carnivores are currently reading this page.

My theory being that searchers will read your page for longer because they see other people like them are also reading it thus increasing dwell time and maybe ranking slightly higher in Google and the cycle repeats except just with a larger amount of viewers.

23 carnivores reading this page -> increase dwell time/user engagement -> ranks higher -> more viewers -> X number of carnivores reading this page -> repeat.

Social proof in action basically.

I know this tactic is used on paid funnels but what about for organic SEO posts.

Thoughts?

Don't think it'll affect SEO of your site unless it'll improve your time on site. But it is an interesting idea that adds something to a site.

good point. it does seem feasible as long as the number appears organic nd is accurate reggarding the number of visitors the website receives. my concern, however, would be the use of this strategy from an SEO perspective since staying on the page for a longer period of time does not always guarantee good rankings from google.
