I just got indexed and ranked in 2 hours...

This is insane. First of all, I have a lot of sites under my belt so this is kind of spectacular and has never happend to me.

The story goes: Bought a new domain 2 hours ago (non emd - fresh with no history), had 3 awesome articles and a couple of images ready. Installed theme in WP, no plug-ins at all. I kicked back and relaxed for 2 hours (I have not done any backlinking at all, not even twitter or bookmarking, nothing!). Then I thought I would check up on my comeptition one more time, and there it was. One of the pages was ranking on the first page #8 for its main keyword.

At first I got happy, then I got angry. Simply because WHY ON EARTH can't g o o g l e be more consistent in how it works. I would love to have this happen to me all of the time, but I guess sometimes you just get lucky...

Has anyone else have had this happen to them? If so, feel free to share your story.

Not to shoot down your hype, but if you have exact match KW to domain, w low search and 0 comp you are going to rank fast. Traffic is what matters. If you rank #1 for irrelevance what good is it?

Good work, just make sure you aren't targeting something that no one knows/searches for.

Stats about this KW that is ranking.

U.S monthly searches (exact) = 880
Keyword has 45k + comp in phrase search
Front page is all major retailers + some review sites (jennyreviews is one)

This is a product specific keyword which means my traffic is LaZeR targeted.

he doesnt have an exact match domain. When wordpress is installed one of the steps is to notify the search engines right at the end. That could have got the site indexed and low competition or just rotten luck

could have got it ranked.

last year-don't remember the exact date but I sure was surprised by that.
Actually a guy that was offered to buy the website from me brought this to my attention

No it does not, ranking beats PR all day long.

I've not had that happen to any of my sites but most of my sites have inner pages rank extremely fast after I publish them.

Treat that site nicely, OP, don't abuse it and would love to hear it making you X,XXX a month after a bit.

yes dude it same happened here,,, I m on 7th spot on Google indexed before 2 days and sitting on 7th spot from yesterday,,,

I don't know what's Google strategy now,,,

I use a huge ping list to get indexed fast on my WP sites.
