I have a problem with indexing Medium post.

How can I setup "Index tag" when publishing post?

If anyone can help me. I will be very grateful.

You can't set index tag. Noindex is applied by Medium automatically these days.

You have to age an account and warm it up now. Going around and giving people claps, publishing lots of posts, waiting a few weeks, etc.

Maybe but I'm interested in how to enable indexing on my post.

Medium article is dead if you're planning to get google index immediately... so far after I've warm up and do the regular stuff to make the account as legit as possible, it is still "Noindex Tag"
So i dont know what else to do so I pronounce it as DEAD lol

I heard getting the paid option will get your articles with a index tag, not sure how true that is. Even some of my old articles that was index in previous years have been de-indexed and now has a no-index tag.

This isn’t necessarily bad news. If getting Medium content indexed is now harder, that just created new business opportunities and made higher quality posts more visible. You could start account warmup service or sell selective quality hosted content once you got an account going that can get content indexed.

I have an account that I created in Nov 2019. It has around 9 posts total, half of them posted this month. I activated a paid membership but all of my articles (except the ones I posted in someone's medium publication, they have always been index) are still n0index. I clap here and there a couple of times a week to make it look like an active account and hope that they will delete the noindex.

@lbhbochc can you share some more stats about your account? Maybe there is something missing on my account. I really need to get back to INDEX state as it used to be. Thanks!

There is no crawling or indexing strategy for medium.
You can get the post crawled sooner by linking it to the web page you own and submit it for crawling or wait until it crawls normally.

They recently changed noindex tag, they might have done it preventing from spammy post
