I got scammed hard...

Hello everyone

In 6 days i have my birthday and today i got the best gift ever.
I was used in disputes and chargebacks as all service providers know that this happens 1-2 times per month. Till now i think the max amount i lost was something like 150-200$ but today i got the final hit.

Someone i was working for 3-4 months and we almost talked every week 2-3 times went today and made a bank reversal on everything we worked together so far. A total of 1.163$ .

The thing is i emailed her and i wait for her to explain the problem as we had some communication as i told you but i dont feel like she will get back to me. Now this is a plain joke after 4 months to do an unathorized payments claim to the bank after all these conversations we had on email (i think i even have her phone somewhere or she maybe asked mine)

Paypal told me that i can go to my local police station to file a claim to the international deparment of justice and they will give me all her info and take some next steps.

Now i am just waiting if she replies back, not in a good mood as you can understand. The thing is she is kinda "famous" and i have everything of her (twitter-website-instagram etc.etc.) and this case seems really strange to me and totally pisses me off.

I would like to talk here because it will make me feel better and listen from you guys if you had something like this happened to you in the past and how you handled it.

Just work harder and make sure next time you will check everything. You learn with your mistakes. I am sure you learned (or if not yet, you are learning) to dont get scammed. be happy it was now and not when idk, you hit 6 numbers and you lose 50k

are you sure that you know the real identity , maybe he/she used stolen credit cards and fake identities.

We also have a lot of problems with this scammers

The thing is i talk with her email (brand email) and work on the brand instagram-twitter-website and we work together for 4 months so i dont think there was something i can learn from all these at the moment.
Maybe its a crazy scam or i dont know. There is no way someone got stolen card and info and after 4 months she does the reversal from the bank :/

How big a celeb is she? In what country?

This may work to your advantage. I'm sure she doesn't want her reputation ruined over $1k..

Thats what i am thinking and why i was never expecting something like this to happen. If you search her name you will get a good number of result. Dont imagine a superstar but something around medium size (not world knowned).
I am very curious if she is going to reply back to my email now after the bank reversal!

Whats funny is that before 2 days he ordered something else also that we didnt started yet...some things just dont add together :|

If she does not reply in your favour then name and shame her everywere you can! Show her up and if she is famous like you said then it will effect her more than this is effecting you, you know were I am if you need anything.

I feel sorry for you, but you know, shit happens... When I was starting, I was penniless, I couldn't even afford to buy .info domain for $2.99, I could neither write articles, nor design websites, complete noob, you know. But I worked my ass off and after 2 months or so I had a bit more than $300 in my hands, I live in a country which isn't supported by Paypal, I clearly remember, it was already 11:00 PM when I went out to exchange that money (I was gonna transfer that money into the other guy's bank account, in return he'd send me the same amount on Paypal), I had already planned everything, but I got unlucky to run into a great scammer, he did the excellent job, called me twice, talked friendly, but still, I was naive and went for "I'll pay first", that was the biggest mistake in my entire IM history. I transferred money and called him ................... no answer I got scammed, can you imagine my feelings at that time ?! working my ass off for 2 months and getting scammed, thinking of starting all again, penniless again... I thought I was gonna commit suicide or something, but unlike that I passed on it. Straight sense, nothing more, I did my best to get that money back, with no results. What was being depressed gonna get me ? - nothing, so I just moved on. So should you, try to get your money back, but don't depress yourself, shit happens. I think I'm getting a little carried away. + 15 rep from me if it encourages you

I know there are biggest scams out there guys but have in mind the same amount of money has different value in different countrys. For some 1000$ is 1/5 of their monlty income and for some are 3- months of regular work.
In the end i am not depressed. I am more angry because its a fresh story!
I will forget about it in the next days but as i told you talking with people here is the best thing i can do and thats why i posted it!

I have to laugh at you few guys saying oh well its only 1k yada yada, if some bitch scams me regardless of the amount I'm looking for her blood! It's a principle thing...

If you have all the social accounts of hers, they why don't you leave a message on all the social accounts as to what happened.
You can always rank a few web 2.0 and websites for her name if you don't get back your money.

But from your story, it seems that there is more to it than what you have shared here.
Nobody is going to talk for 4 months and than do a chargeback for just $1000 without some good reason especially when one is a celebrity ( no matter how small )

Hmm, I am astonished that paypal took your money.
Bank reversals are not possible in every country, but in mine.
One time, when I should get scammed, I reversed a bank payment of paypal for 1K. The seller wasn't hit by that, but my PP account got a neg balance and was locked until i bring it back to an amount of 0.

And this is why it seems super strange to me. Now as i said i am on the "wait" phase to see if she gets back to me (i also contacted her on her personal website with a fake email to see if he replies only there and ignores me)

The only strange thing i see is that we used to work on everything on her instagram but now her last images have some likes and i never delivered them.
So wtf she found a new provider and does a chargeback to payments for 4 months back?

well dude i got scammed thought alibaba.com few years ago for also around $1600, then i realized that just the name says it all, if ur falimiar with the story alibaba and forty thieves, well since then ive bee cautions of buying anything from internet
