For those who didn’t see the first post, quick recap:
A guy messaged me couple of weeks ago claiming he needed help removing some old mugshots online so he can safely secure an important project... He claimed he’d been scammed before and begged me to start without payment. Against my better judgment, I did the work first. He confirmed everything was removed, thanked me… then disappeared and blocked me when it was time to pay.

Well...That’s what happened.

Now for the update.

After couple of days that I shared that story, he reached out again.
More respectful this time and very apologetic
We actually talked things through and eventually came to an understanding.

I won’t go into details because of time, but we later settled and moved on.

No bad blood.
Stuff like this happens in online business sometimes.

Sometime we learn, adjust, and keep moving.

Well ... Just wanted to close the loop and keep you guys updated

Have a wonderful day:)

so, did he pay you eventually? I can't tell from how you've worded your post.

Also, what's the excuse he gave you for blocking you? I already labeled him as scumbag, but I still wish to know how such people think... if they do think at all...

Yeah, He eventually paid....And as for why he blocked me, his excuse was basically panic and fear. He said he thought I’d expose him or harass him for more payment, so he chose to disappear instead of communicating. Not smart, obviously, but that was his excuse.

Yeah, He eventually paid
cool

I call bullshit (on his part), but good thing you got your money...

Thanks for the update!

Me too actually... I just decided to leave out the obvious... I mean trying to prove anything will just be a futile attempt

That sucks, man. Always trust but verify, lesson learned the hard way. Glad to hear you still got paid for your hard work, lucky you!

Glad to see that you got paid in the end, networkpal. It's always frustrating when clients panic and block instead of communicating, but at least the issue was resolved. I've had similar experiences in the past, and it's a good reminder to have a clear payment and communication plan in place from the start. Did you end up adding any new clauses to your contract or adjusting your payment terms as a result of this experience?

No actually...no extra charges, just the fee we both agreed on before we begin the project
