I got HACKED by using the AUTOBLOG PLUGINS here!

lol do you really think im going to take the time to actually root your server and reinstall cpanel? or to talk to your hosting provider to get the password reset?

and actually i wasn't trying to get you banned and blacklisted, i was trying to send out my emails. Unlike you i know how to utilize servers.

Wow dude no need to flame the guy. What if someone or you somehow lost your sites, wouldn't you be mad aswell? Then please be sincere and say it nicer. It could be possible in a sense that the plugin could make an infected .html popup to spread a trojan to you.

on one you say you've had you're cpanel hacked and blame the plugins, another you're adding that you had you're IP blocked, now you're re-formatting you're machine...

you've not once pointed at any one plugin, just 'these plugins'..

if there was such a problem, I'm sure that loads of people on here, probably me as well, would've been hit the same way and made a lot of noise.

I found this site (europetraveltips*info) had been hacked by Defacer From Algeria www*sec4ever8com and I found some plug-in hxxp:**europetraveltips*info/wp-content/plugins/

i had the following:

avg, windows defender, spybot, adaware, ccleaner, malwarebytes.

nothing detected it. i spoke to InMotionHosting, they said that the hack may have come through Adobe Flash or Adobe Acrobat and that the newest release should fix it. I formatted my PC to clear everything up though.

When I was uploading, they may have detected the autoblog plugins at the same time the hacker got on and my IP was banned from the host altogether not cpanel. ill try to get better info again today. the guy i spoke with told me to email the main security guys. thanks for the help everyone.
 
I'm actually interested in what happened, I had a similar type issue on two of my sites using wordpress 2.6 I believe. That installment of wordpress had major security holes in it, if your still using it update immediately!

One of the sites I was working on that had this type issue doesn't use any autoblog plugins. My brother-in-law had 7 sites hacked during same time.

Wordpress 2.6 itself was believed to be responsible according to my hosting company, though the plugin possibility was the one I thought it was initially.

But one thing I know, hacking is up. I've had sites hacked, friends and family have had sites hacked (all wordpress), so there is something going on.

My favorite movie site even got hacked for crying out loud.
 
I understand that pluggins are notorious for spreading viruses!

torrents are another (I got bit by one!)
 
@ClownBaby I feel ya man...I just had 8 of my sites HACKED TODAY, And I have ZERO idea to where it Started from...Could be from here or it could be from Facebook I DON'T Know???

didnt read till end. so much bulshit Info in this thread :)

you cant infect a php script and get cpanel with this.

Cpanel has root priv. YOUR APACHE/PHP SCRIPT ONLY HAS limited priv. (nobody)

ofc you can get root with local root exploits. But its more then unlikly at any decent webhost.

btw. Reading the first post. The OP knows nothing about security. NOTHING ;)
