I found something naughty from Apple

Hey there...
I found something today that happened with my MacBook Pro when having issues with battery that discharged really quick. I must say my cycles are 1,858. Which there is a standard of 1,000 cycles, but some people report to have it like for 2,500 and more.

I had this issue that my Mac showed 100% charged battery but when disconnecting it will turn off. I immediately thought it was an issue when tried doing a SMC resetting, I already bought a battery from Amazon. Anyway, here is a strange thing...

I updated little snitch, and mistakenly when opening it, I denied a connection with a server which is forgetting the time for the Mac. My surprise is that when that happens, the battery showed now 0% battery and is now charging.

I hope this solved, but I did a SMC reset and change time by denying the connection with Apple servers to get time, and it got back in time to 2017.

PD: I already unplugged stealing 1 cycle just to test that it won't turn off anymore.
Is this a hack for Apple programmed obsolescence?

Try it without any internet and see if the result is the same. I think your battery's lifetime is all and done my friend.

can you use it with the wire just plugged in for know till you get a good battary or a good windows laptop

I like it for the POSIX / UNIX, but next one will be a dual boot for Windows and Linux, maybe an Origin or MSI.

UPDATE:
I bought a battery on Amazon and used a tutorial on how to change it.
It took me about 1.5 hours to finish the process of learning and doing it. Saved $250 USD from a service of changing batteries on Mac Stores.

A computer has now more than 6 years and it stills work like a charm. So no complaints with Mac, apparently they use top of the notch soldering materials since it doesn't get GPU desoldered when overheated.

I found that if you follow these steps you can get your Mac Book to last over 10 year period (my past computer).
1.- If it heats, open with special screwdriver and dedust with a special pressure spray. (Don't blow or put your dirty saliva there.)
2.- If the battery dies, change it and keep using the computer.
3.- If it slows down, double the RAM, it is very easy to change on old versions, don't know about 2018 generation.
4.- Constantly use the Disk defragmenter and try to not download non-verified software.
5.- Don't let it overheat, take care on it, if it heats, open Activity Monitor software and watch which software is using all the power. Take it down or restart. That will save your computer from sudden death of overheat.

For your next laptop try installing Ubuntu - but purchase a model that's been certified for it. I believe most Lenovo/Thinkpads have it by default.

You might be supprised, with certified laptops EVERYTHING tends to work perfectly! You'll also get that perfect Unix experience without having to resort to Homebrew et al to install key dev stuff.

That is awesome, the only problem is that there is no Adobe for Linux That kills my whole experience.
