I have 2 sites and I don't want to build a PBN, it seems expensive and very time consuming, I am targeting low search volume keywords. So far I have used web 2.0s (recently) only and not sure if I notice a big effect, I am targeting low search volume under 300 keywords, with good on page SEO I land on page 1 or 2. What can I do to rank at top, is buying PBN safe here, I don't want to get penalized, but it seems so much more time efficient, is there any other things I can do, like blog comments, press release any other back links I can use? According to most metrics my DA is 1, although recently added 30 web 2.0s to my site, my only backlinks so far.

There's different levels of PBNs, some are sellers who scrape a domain for $10 and build it, then after 12 months leave it to expire.Meaning the 10 links that you thought you had, have all vanished.

There are PBN sellers who spend $hundreds on domains, offer monthly rental but you know that the links are there for you in 2 or 3 or 5 years time.

But is there a risk of being penalized for these sort of links? And who should I trust?

There's a risk of being penalised for any type of bought link. it's just some people are great at hiding PBNs, others aren't.

You ideally need links from niches the same as your own. Looks rather weird if your niche is motorbikes and getting links from baby / parenting advice sites.

Facing the same issue , very confused and you cant trust a PBN link provider , only best bet is building own PBN .

It seems expensive and time consuming and my niche site is not targeting high comp keywords... Thats why I am not sure if its worth it.

As i said facing the same dilemma here , so I am still looking for some Good PBN provider where I could have PBN link from my niche , I have not been able to find yet been a month only working on web2.o with othe links for diversity , thinking to create PBNs may next month I know It will be expensive but you can be sure for improvements then

Trust me, it is worth it. And not expensive as you think. Think of it as a long term investment. You can build them slowly.

Nice move. Keep it up. You’re on the right track.

I think none of you are understanding his problem.
Let me explain more since I m in the same boat.
His site is not Niche based.
He is not targeting big volume keywords Like 2k+.

Investing a Lot on 1 keyword of 300 volume is not economical. We have to keep in mind that our main motto is moneymaking not ranking on top.

I think blog commenting and web 2.0 is the best bait for this issue.

Yes, something can be done to increase the domain authority though.

If you want to minimize pbn risk, point those pbn links to your web 2.0. Your web 2.0 will act as buffer. But the consequence is it will dilute pbn power.

Personally I like to rent backlinks (purchase monthly packages) since this decreases the chance of the owner not renewing the domain name.

Now i am starting to feel like the thread in in the era of Backlink stuffing :P

No one is answering the question, just beating around the bush.

You need to read his first post carefully too. OP said he already built 30 web2.0 but not sure if it brings a big effect while he wanted to rank at top with other links.

Then you came and suggesting web2.0 again wtih blog comments. That’s just not answering his question either lol as he already done that. Besides using blog comments only to make things worse as you can not control this type of link (obl) and it’s supposed to be used on tier 2 instead. Always try to build contextual links to your moneysite.
