I discovered how algorithm work

Appreciate you brother <3 I will keep on trying even if it's hard right now... I came too far to quit.
No problem man. Even Paddy Vu himself had videos that plummeted. But he sticks with and and constantly improves and checks the stats. That's how you win. Keep it up!

Feel like comment isnt worth it LOL

@PaddyVu

Bro! In which language do you make your content? I ask because you said your English isn’t very good and if you make it in English, How do you do it?

Hey OP, do you buy views to help push your shorts and get it viral?

Don't upload YouTube Shorts. Upload the videos as a normal video. The benefit of doing it this way is that you get ad revenue, and the algorithm still treats short normal videos as well as YouTube Shorts.
So is it better to upload a vertical video as normal and then youtube will auto put it as a short also? I see some other youtubers with the short badge on their vertical videos, do you only get that if you post as normal or as short?

also for anyone else who has had success with this method, are your videos all under 1 minute? how long are your videos.

OP sure discovered how the algorithm of BHW works, in any case, because this thread is at 1K replies already.

Biggest thread of BHW?

Upload the video as a horizontal video. You want the video to not be counted as a YouTube short, because you wont make any money off of the video, also most people don't check the descriptions or comments much on YouTube shorts. Keep the video around 31-60 seconds. You'll get ads and make money.

so it dont matter where i upload my vertical video on, if its vertical and less than 1 min youtube will pick it up as a short? because I know for mobile it says u can create a short but for desktop it just says upload video.
also theres case studies for some youtubers that once they started uploading vertical videos or shorts, they started to explode in growth and views. I have attached a couple of examples I didnt show their names because of privacy.

these are for 2 different channels, you can see the spike in subs and views, this is due to them using shorts. I went and checked and saw when they started posting vertical videos under 1 min and it aligns with the graphs and spikes.

What are your goals? I wouldn't upload your video as a vertical video. Make it a regular horizontal 1920x1080p video. YouTube's algorithm will still push your video this way, considering you'll be making 30-60 second content, easy to gain high retention and engagement. The reason why you don't want to upload your video and have it get counted as a YouTube Short, is because you won't make any money from Adsense. @PaddyVu is making money from his videos because they are over 30 seconds, and they aren't YouTube Shorts.

I think my goal right now is build out my audience to grow and have a interactive community, not so much money atm. Is this best way to do this through shorts, cuz i know its hard to grow on youtube, but its easier to on tiktok, im wondering if they adopted that growth model from tiktok to youtube shorts? I see that most channels recently who started doing shorts got alot of subs and views. So im just wondering if youtube pushes shorts more for growth compared to their regular videos.

And with your reply, does uploading a horizontal video 30-60secs youtube also counts it as a short too? or just regular video?

That's a great goal man, and I'm sure you will succeed if you put the work in! The best way to build an interactive community with 30-60 second videos would definitely be making normal 1920x1080p horizontal videos. YouTube will push your 30-60 second videos the same as a YouTube short would. YouTube shorts mainly have low audience engagement, aka the lack of people wanting to subscribe, less comments etc. Obviously this depends on the creator, the content itself and how they use their platform.
I see plenty of creators making 30-60 second normal videos and they build an active fanbase, plus they're making money from their videos through Adsense, so that's a bonus!

Sometimes, make bad English title can actually help the channel because they will try to correct your title, free engagement lmao

no i dont buy views, i tried 1 time 2 month ago, result is killing the video even retention rate are 100% :( so no, for every videos, i will use community tabs to boost external views, i dont know if this actually help the videos or not because 2 of recent videos went viral because i post the link after 8 hours posting the video, however the third/fourth videos, algorithm instantly boost my videos so i dont have time to prepare, i use community tabs again but it doesnt boost anymore... i will try again when algorithm stop boosting my videos too soon...
