Hi,
So I want to buy one domain and the domain is not live! There is nothing in the domain; it doesn't even have hosting.
The Porkbun.com is the owner of the domain. But they aren't selling it and it seems they have bought it. I dont why, because it´s related anyway to porkbun.

They have just taken it from 2024 and it´s going to end 9.2026.
There has been nothing on this page in the past 2 years.

Has anyone had any experience with releasing a domain?
Could there be a reason why this domain was purchased for themselves, even though it has no value to them?

Thanks

Yes, they might be domain holders and there are services that reach out to the owners. Have you tried that?

Porkbun is registrar, domain is probably just registered with them.

Godaddy buys domains, does Porkbun not do that?
Sure. But OP claims domain is not related to Porkbun in any way. He is not sure why would they buy it. Would be nice to see whois info, maybe we would know more. With domain name redacted of course.

People register domains for the same reasons. They have an idea, or they want to protect their brand. You shouldn't be messing around with someone else's business name and imitation dealings. You can waste time and or money doing things like this.
(i know @BassTrackerBoats will disagree with me, as he's the type of gangsta that holds Nasdaq companies to ransom with his domain shenanigans!! ) lol

I have contacted Porkbun and they said I can try to take it over. But it probably won't work. Because somehow I understood between the lines that someone took it over at Porkbun staff and the customer can't be contacted. And the account is somehow closed, and now I have to legally wait until the domain is released.

Porkbun, however, announced that they will try to send a message to the domain owner, but they said. That it probably won't work. "When no one is home." So a dead account or something. So porkbun has taken it over, so to speak.

^ this.

I have a couple of domains with nothing in it too, just protecting my business idea 20 years ago and counting... maybe I should just give it up lmao

I own a 3 letter country code domain, but I don’t have the budget to build a project around it right now. What would you suggest I do with it? And if I decide to sell it, what kind of price should I be looking at?

I’d suggest comparing it with NakamaID listings before deciding.
