I agreed to build a website to a client. I was supposed to work at their premises and use their computer, but the place was an old barn and there was no heating or toilet facilities. I got ill. I informed the client that I will finish the website as we agreed but working at my home. The client also wanted me to make some phone calls using my own phone but I refused. I have told the client my terms and conditions orally as well as in writing. The client has not said anything. I finished the work as agreed and I got an email stating that I have stolen a laptop. The client has informed police that I have stolen a laptop. The client does not know where I live. I feel annoyed and quite angry. It is not a huge amount of money but being asked to work in premises which are not meant for human beings was not in mind when I accepted to do the work. I am of course more than happy to return the laptop. I got the impression that I will never be paid. I certainly was not paid the way we agreed. When sending or giving the laptop back to the client, I would like to surprise the client somehow. What could I do? Delete everything that has been installed? Get the laptop infected with a virus? Or what?
