Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a free web-based SMS service that allows for anonymous messaging. I don't need any bulk carrier options, as I'm only sending one message. It seems like the telecom lobbyists have really clamped down after the SOPA / PIPA battle, making it difficult to find anonymous messaging options. Even getting a Google Voice number now requires an active major cellular carrier subscription for verification, which is a bit disheartening. Sadly, we've gone way beyond the Orwellian nightmare of 1984, and it's been that way since 1984 itself.

I've spent the last few hours trying out over a dozen different SMS sites, but I've had absolutely no luck. Does anyone here have any ideas on anonymous SMS / VOIP relay services (USA) that offer a free trial and actually work?

Try TextEm, SendAnonymousSMS, or TxtDrop. They don't need personal info or registration, just type, send, and you're done. Remember, though, with great anonymity comes great responsibility.
