Hurricane Sandy - Please read ASAP- 65 Deaths

We were very lucky, no damage at all but my heart goes out to leadkitchen and others that may have had damage. If there is anything I can do for you Leadkitchen just ask. Thanks you to all the bhw members(Srb888) and your prayers and to my brother and sister.

Yeah I don't think it was 65 people. Its a much lower number many of them died from fallen trees. Yeah everything in the bronx area is good as long as u don't live around a lot of water.

On its way to us the storm took 65 peoples lives along the Caribbean.

From what I am hearing on the news there has been 20 deaths in the tri state area.
 
So I saw my house and luckily it only flooded the basement. The bad news is that the Hurricane Totaled 3 of my cars.
 
I'm alive. Power is restored and internet came on an hour ago. Many people are still without power. I lost a week of work. I never want to hear the word hurricane again as long as I live. But thank God we are all alive. The tri state area got hit very bad. It is a mess here.
 
My family was very very lucky. We had some minor damage to the house but we never lost power. Can't say the same for the rest of my family; most are still without power and it's getting cold. Now the new struggle is getting gasoline and this is more than a minor inconvenience particularly for those relying on generators.

Yes it was hell for all concerned... all those who suffered inside the hurricane and outside it too.

But you are back now to begin a wonderful new life.

Hurricanes may come and go, but humanity will survive them all and will ALWAYS come out of them Winning & Smiling.

You all were too tiny in front of that merciless goliath, but it was still beaten because you all had the greatest thing in you which it didn't -- Faith & Determination. That again will come handy as you all begin the march ahead towards a very happy life!

I pray that to happen soon in your lives, and pray that other members do come back here very soon.

Thank you srb for your kind words and prayers. Thank you to all who prayed. We are not accustomed to hurricanes over here. We do snow, blizzards, and ice, not hurricanes. This certainly was an experience.
 
So this will be my last message on this subject. Its sad to see all the damage Hurricane sandy has caused the east coast. God Bless & Keep your Head up.
