Hurricane Sandy - Please read ASAP- 65 Deaths

If you've never been in a hurricane, pray to God you never experience it. One of the scariest things ever. Sandy just left our country lots of flooding and damage on some islands. We only suffered one fatality which could have been avoided but thank God that was all. You are in our prayers.

hopefully everything is going great. On Wednesday US will be ok and headed to Presidential elections next week with no delays

The internet is going in and out. Some people lost power already. It is very windy. Some places are flooding because of the surge in water. The hurricane didn't even get here yet. Please pray. I live a mile from the beach. Our street did not have to evacuate because we are on a big hill. We won't flood but trees will go down. There are many trees on this street.

The storm is getting really bad. From what the news is saying the worst has yet to come!
It still has not hit 100% yet. It has been peaking but it hits 100% at 6-7pm est.
I taped all of my windows and even put cardboard up just in case it breaks.
Its time to start the prayers.

Thank you all for coming through the storm and giving us feedback on what's happening there. This too shall pass, stay strong. You are never alone, and no storm, not even this one, is created to be bigger than you. Love you all who are out there in the thick of it. God is of course with you.
Those who don't believe in God, please know that there are life sustaining intelligent forces in this Universe that really care for your well-being -- it has many forms... like people who love you, people who are praying for you, people who are fighting the storm and getting rescues and help arranged, people who want you to come back out of it without a single scratch on your bodies and minds, people and even strangers expecting you to be back with a smile on your faces. These forces have more powers than all the storms put together.
Stay strong, stay together, and assure your near and dear ones who must be a lot more terrified.
There is a whole world that wants you to come out of it safe and smiling!

I am in Long Island so right now the wind has picked up a lot but so far so good. We have power which is not something I expected and everyone is safe which is a blessing. Thanks for the prayers and thoughts my bhw mates.

Its getting closer to us - when a hurricane is able to hit mid-Canada hard its not good! Any other Canadians on here?

I'm in Brooklyn, New York around Brighton Beach. My house is basically 10 feet from the boardwalk that stretches from Coney Island to Brighton Beach.
Lots of people have been going on the beach to take pictures and video and there have
been some nice shots to take. I did just that. About a hour ago i went out and took a few video's. Had to leave after 40minutes or so cause cops started
coming on the beach and forcing us off.
The problem right now is that high tide is about to come in like 20 minutes. This will probably be really bad. We also have another bigger tide at around 12
thats going to be the biggest problem.
May everyone in ZONE A(Like Me) stay safe and don't be a hero!!! Same goes to everyone else thats not in zone A.
