Its going to hit us here in Manhattan hard tomorrow around noon time. All of Zone A has been evacuated. This is crazy thats all I can say. Like I said I am 1 block away from Zone A so I am going to feel it good. I am right near the water on the Upper East Side. Hopefully the Power does not stay out long because I have a business to run.

The media always hypes this up. Last year for Irene nothing, only the usual problem in the US - POWER OUTAGES due to even small thunderstorms. So you can count on that impacting a lot of people sadly. Out of bateries etc most places and people act like the world will end tomorrow. Even if it is worse than last year, you could observ the exact same pattern. If the infrastructure (manly power etc) would not suck so horrible there would be way less to worry about (of course except people directly near the coast etc...) OH well whole NY shut down basically for Mon/Tues as it will 12 hr to get the transit back rolling.

Imagine that in other developed western countries. With al the power outages due to bad weather , investment in better infrastructure would pay off easily but I guess we will keep seeing millions of people without power every single year in the US.
Good luck to everybody, that you keep power and don suffer any personal or property damages.

Our governor has us all dead already. My poor mother is a hysterical mess.

From Experience, Leave the Storm area, bring family and friends. Prepare for life sustaining supplies. Your part of the country does not drain off water well. Public transportation is underground. Don't use it. Look at the History of Katrina. Depend on yourselves, the Federal government will not help you. Prayers are good, no doubt, but depend on common sense, and get the F**k out and away. Good Luck and God Bless! The rest of us will be watching. Update us too.

I was supposed to fly to NY on Saterday but my flight were delayed/cancelled due to hurricane sandy. I didn't expect or know at that stage how serious it actually is.
I pray that no more lifes will be taken and that damage will be minimum.It's sad to see families loose everything due to hurricane/storms etc. I will gladly donate money for those in the carribean who already sufferedfrom the damages caused by the storm. if someone could point me to a legit webpage that would be nice .

Hay waitaminute. What's all this attention being paid to the people in this hurricane that haven't even died yet? I though Amanda whats-her-name, the girl that committed suicide by internet bullys was the BIG THING everyone was so "concerned" about. Plus, what about Kony? You know, he's still waging genocide and homicide and childrinicide and all those horrible things, and you folks are concerned about people in nice houses and food and everything. You should be ashamed. And also, what about Hurricane uh, "Ike" was it? You know, the one in New Orleans where all that terrible stuff happened to all those people we don't know. I thought THAT was the "big-deal" and here it's only been about 4 or 5 years and you folks have already forgotten about them.

It's just terrible, how people like you are. Just flit around from one group of victims to another, all willy-nilly, demanding sympathy over here, no it's supposed to go over there, well that's good, but now we're focusing on someone else. What about Fukishima and the nuclear cloud of impending toxic waste and destruction? Weren't we supposed to be hyper-paranoid over that?

Point? In case you can't read, or can't understand basic English, the point is that in these situations you keep it light and general. All these orgasmic utterances of deep concern and sympathy are all bullshit, because in exactly 7 days you will have forgot all about this, and will be gushing fluid like the Great Vagina in the Sky over something else that's in the mass-media, and popular. And I'm still mad at most of you about that Amanda-whats-her-name Bully story, because I thought that was going to be a REALLY BIG DEAL and you-all have moved on and found some other group to feel sorry for and use for superficial entertainment purposes.

Pull out all your BS and get out. You haven't lost anything or anyone who has mattered. Fear and panic are basic instincts and they can hit hard. Hope you never get thrown in front of a raging train... you'd know what fear is and what it can do to you long before you're dead.

Sympathy... what do you about the word?

P.S.:
I was being thrown in front of a raging train in western suburbs in Mumbai (Bombay then)--- when I was only 12, and was 'thrown' there by my own self!!! It was while we were playing near the railway tracks, and thirsty, I crossed rails to reach the railway signal cabin just to get some water to drink... I let a train go by, and then crossed the rails, only to find myself in front of another train coming from another direction and was in great speed. It was like 200 meters away and speeding at me... had only a split second to jump while my limbs felt numb and heavy. It was God whom I had always loved and believed in, who picked me up and pushed beyond the rails... just 1 second later the train passed that spot.

Btw, I still don't know who was more scared ATM... I, or that train driver whom I could clearly see even during that split second I watched that train which was closing in on me...

Hope and pray that your God is near you to do the same if required...

I don't know to say to you guys at the moment. I pray that nothing happens to anyone and I would like to see all BHW member logging back to BHW after hurricane is gone. Probably start a thread about how everything went during these days.
