Huge Google Update This Week or Not?

Algoroo and Mozcast are lighting up, indicating that shit is doing down somewhere in Googleland. I also ran across this article: https://www.seroundtable.com/google-algorithm-update-may-17-23880.html

Thing is, as the article said I haven't heard you guys bitching yet... so what's the deal? Personally I've seen maybe a SLIGHT dip down over the past week on some sites, but so little that it could be absolutely normal.

Thoughts? Update, no update? Maybe just the Google AI playing with the algo sliders again?

There were some bitching threads that came up in the past week. Two to be precise. but nothing major was happening there. Could be some small update, or maybe nothing at all. Wonder what they'll call it now.. The wilma update?

"We've been seeing some volatility due to this test with Featured Snippets -- since Google is removing the page-one organic ranking for some people (if the URL gets the snippet), it's creating more flux. This only seems to be part of the story, though.

I've noticed Google testing this, could be the reason why all the serp trackers are showing a lot of movement but not many people complaining.
 
I see ranking fluctuation for my few sites but its normal. But nothing big.
 
Nothing here. Some upwards movement, but nothing dramatic.
 
Rankings dropped for an e-com site of mine yesterday. Clean link profile and great content/on page.
 
It's also entirely possible that this is isolated to just one of desktop/tablet/phones, or/and isolated to just affect certain niches. That all said... I've not seen the kind of seismic activity that Algoroo and MozCast report... but I do trust their monitoring methods, so something must have happened somewhere.

Pretty sure that Google is updating, refreshing, tweaking on a monthly basis now. Get used to it. Don't fall into the Huge Update mentallity of the past.
 
Saw recovery on a fred hit site, which should never have been slapped in the first place. Another site had a decent ranking boost for long tails and highly competitive single keywords, and what the entire site is about. Relatively small niche, but it seems G did something right this time, although I never hold my breath these days. Fucking dipshits can't seem to figure out how to just give people what they search for anymore, only what they think people want!
 
If you are not sure just look at the conversion of a day or two before.
Every time my conversion came to normal before the update, looks like Google lift the filter at that time.
The fact is that you have to live with traffic that is probably filtered.
 
My sites are ticking along nicely over here.....
 
Websites across the board for my clients dropping bottom of 1st - 2nd page - 3rd page, most had 1st page rankings.. I think it's temporary though so I'm just waiting out the storm.
 
main keywords dropped from 10 to 90 ,what's the hell
