Https and http Backlinks

    Hello guys,

    i am confused a little bit about http and https, I recently changed my website from http to https.
    so in WMT, my backlinks don't shows in https:// only in http:// version.

    1- is that normal ?

    2- should i build links to http or to https ?

    If you haven't built links to https ://, how would WMT show any? :)

    Add 301 redirects from http to https, or rel="canonical" links, so that Google won't "believe" there are two different sites. Then you can build links to either one URL. But, for the sake of consistency, you should pick one and stay with it.

    You can see any plugin to redirect them if you are using wordpress.

    i did the redirect 301 to https from .htaccess file.

    what do you think about my question n2, should i build links to http or to https ?

    Why would you build links to http if you are using https?

    because i see other websites have links to http even they are using https...

    Should not matter, since if you are forcing https on your site every link that is http will be redirect 301 to https so link juice is been redirect too. Just leave those and from now on create your links on https and it will be fine.
