Our website has abnormal spam traffic from reddit forum and livehacker in these 2 days. Can the spam traffic affect our site rating? How can we block the spam?

I believe they are from your referral traffic which ruining your analytics data.
You can block those spam bots in 2 ways: by the .htaccess or by implementing Analytics filter.

No, as they are just bots and search engines are familiar about them.
You just have to implement filters and segments to your analytics to not include them in your reports.

There are several plugins that can be used to block the ip.


You can search for a free wordpress plugins org
