How would you improve YouTube?

NSFW is an issue on YT still. I think there is borderline channels doing yoga with NSFW angle. IMO these sorts of channels should get banned. I mean when you doing yoga while emphasizing a certain area of your body on purpose and people can tell what you are doing then that should not be acceptable.

It just shows if its pushing the boundaries YouTube does not care because its still making them money from a certain demographic of people, yet if i tried to upload a video of actual NSFW then i would get banned. Double standards here? I think so.

Realistically its also a form of censorship or maybe even bordering into propaganda territory. If we can only Like but not Dislike anything then what is that really? its a false sense of reality, everyone must hit the like button because its bad to make your own decision and hit the Dislike, infarct we removed it so you can't.

I also wan't to know why can we install browser addons and see/use the dislike again? the metric is clearly still there just hidden officially. This sounds like shaping public opinion using a form of censorship.

the crazy thing is youtube actualy killed the real api for it bro those addons just estimate the numbers based on their own user base now they went out of their way to hide the truth
 
I would work on improving shorts algorithm. Currently, it is evident that YouTube has completely lost battle to instagram in case of short videos.
 
Ok i just searched yoga, looks like they have cleaned up the Yoga niche since i last searched it. It was rampart with clickbate type softcore NSFW content last time i looked.

Why not? They're harmless. Soft sexualisation through exercise videos has been happening for decades.
 
I’d bring back the old comment section chaos and stop recommending the same 10 videos to everyone
 
If i ran YouTube, i would remove NSFW content from the main platform and instead create an age restricted category featuring a verification process, strict labeling and a ban on access for minors including a total ban on 18+ content.
 
I would be less strict with the conditions to accept content creators into YouTube partnership program.
 
If you were in charge of YouTube, the biggest improvement would likely be restructuring monetization for smaller creators. The current system heavily favors large channels with consistent views, leaving smaller creators with minimal revenue despite high quality content.
