I bought a Micro Niche Site a month ago, and it's not ranking at all. I even wrote 5 articles to add to the site because content is key. I've shared the site to social platforms like Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, etc., but nothing. What I've been doing lately is finding websites via Google News that contain my website topic and commenting on those for backlink juice, but even that's not enough.

I'm willing to pay some cash, but in the cheapest way possible (I'll take free, too haha).

How do you all rank sites in 2015? I haven't been up-to-date on the new algorithms.

Is your site indexed already? Usually 1 month is too early to expect rankings.

It takes time and money to rank websites in top of google these days. It's not something you do over a weekend. Just keep build/buy high quality links from authority websites in your niche and one day you might rank in top of google.

ALso consider having more contextual links in an article published on a page with PR or in a site related to your niche.

Is it really important for your root domain to have backlinks pointing to it ? This is something I have asked about over the years but people seem to differ. Like if I had website where each post was about some topic in the niche and each post was going for a certain keyword, wouldn't I point most backlinks at that specific post/page I want ranked ? Or is it just as important to also point those backlinks at your homepage ?
