i mean does it have to be 100% unique or is ok to have a few sentences that are not unique?

Make it unique enough that it will pass copyscape
what do you mean pass copyscape??. when i check it returns some results that have few sentences that are not unique so i'll end up with a 90 to 95% unique content. is is enough?

Good enough. I think anything over 90% is acceptable

If you can re-write those sentences while saying the same thing and making perfect sense then you should.

I always aim for 100% But wont lose my shit over a few %

More than 80% unique content is acceptable. If you want 100% unique, just re-write that sentences

content can never be 100% unique. it's just not possible, unless you have something that nobody knows about which is highly unlikely as everything is already on the internet.

I always go for 100% unique. It just lets me sleep better at night.

Always go with 100% unique content and make sure it is of high quality. Search engines love them and they convert really well.

For money site or for link building? If you are asking for MS then use 100% unique and quality content only. A big no no for spun or spin content for money site.

It is worrying that people get hung up on "unique" content, there are only so many ways to say the same thing, and I am sure the search engines realizes this.

The sites that rank high with content alone, provide better answers to the search quires. This is measured by expected user experience.... ie; Mutilmedia, citations, graphs, interviews and so on.

It is very possible to rank 20% unique content as long as the rest serves the right purpose and is targeted to solve a specific problem.

Is it really hard to take 40 minutes and write your own unique content?

Google is not stupid, they spent probably few billions just to make their algorithms that will separate spam content from original.

And when you are original they will reward you for that: 1st SERP for 80% niches, pls if you have 2 original photos per article, you can get tons of visitors from Google.

yeah right. that's why when you pay you can rank 1st with shitty content.

The sentences that contain your keywords should be unique.

Some sentences are common in English and happen over and over again. Those can be repeated. The ones you should keep unique are the parts that contain your targetted text.

Your content needs to be significantly different from other available indexed content online.

Ouf. just went over all my blog posts. checked them with duplichecker.com ( i hope the results are accurate) and changed all those duplicated sentences. it sure feels good to have 100% unique content ( as long as the checker i used is good. can any one confirm??! i just hope i'm not going to restart the whole process of ranking again ( not ranking yet as i'm going after medium to higher competition keywords, i'm playing the longer game and i think that's where the money is, plus everybody is going after the "easy" keywords so that's less competition except for those who are already ranking! at least you know you you're competing against.

Over 80% unique definitely passes Copyscape, though the higher the percentage, the better. The content can even be auto-spun initially, so long as you edit the result to ensure the text is naturally readable. Think of a good spinner as a time saver, but not as something that removes human editing from the process.
