How to veify paypal card without SSN

I recently opened a new ebay and paypal account. I have sold several items. I have also received my paypal card and I tried to register it today and it asked for ssn, dob, etc. How can I get around this so that they don't link to an old account?

Not sure if it's the same in the US, but in canada with our SIN numbers, it's an algorhythm. So for example it goes-

a-b-a / b-a-b / a-b-a

If you switch any of the A's with another A, it leaves the sum of the numbers in the equation in tact and valid.

So try switching your third and fifth digit around. And you can probably use the same DOB, or do it one day off.

What do you mean by PayPal card? Are you talking about the debit card? You would need an SSN to get one, there is no way around that.

Is there a better way to collect your money than getting the paypal debit card? I saw you could request a check but I didn't realize the SSN would be a requirement for the debit card. Could I file for a Tax ID number and use that instead?

You can't use an EIN to activate the debit card. It's not possible to use the debit card with stealth, unless you're using a family member's information (hopefully with their permission) and then they would need to let you use their SSN.

The best way is to simply withdraw to a bank account. Once your account gets old enough, you may even qualify for 1 day withdrawals (normally it takes a few days for the money to be sent to your bank account, but for some accounts it only takes a day).

Thank you JMT. This is very helpful. I have read that the bank account can be in my own name as long as its not one previously connected to old paypal, correct?

Yes, that is correct. Paypal can't see the name on your bank account. You just have to worry about your bank caring about the mismatched names. Most banks don't care. The large banks deal with too many deposits to pay any attention to that. But any smaller banks and local credit unions would likely give you problems with that.

SSN = Social Security Number
It is only provided to the USA persons. If you are from USA than it is great, if you are not than don`t try to register it
