Hola people. Hope everyone is safe. Sorry if this has been asked before, I can't find any responses to this question.

I was wondering if anyone has any tips on valuing an instagram account?

I have an opportunity to buy a 100k plus follower account for fashion. Me and my friend want to grow his fashion brand in order to get him some traction and sales. It's a girls insta account and he makes clothes mostly for guys, or unisex i guess. We plan on just taking everything off of it and uploading his clothes.

We don't know if the account is legit, or how much it's worth. Anyone have any threads that i can look into, or any resources I can go through to be able to value it and make a decision?

Thank you!

parti enver if you remove all posts and add new ones with clothes you are going to lose 70% of followers.
why? because those followers are for hot girls there only.

This isn’t a good idea.
Yea definitely not a good idea.

OP , check the engagement of the account. Its all about the engagement, and it depends on the price you are getting it for.

There are some online Instagram account auditors you can use

lololol parti enver. the account is more of a fashion account though. Less hot girls, and more cool outfits & shoes. It would be a gradual process, not get rid of them right away.

Any specific reason why it's not a good idea? Yeah i checked with some free online tool. About 2.5% which is pretty good right? And the price is what i am unsure of. I have no clue what the price would be. $20? $300? $2000? I don't even have a ballpark #

Do you mind expanding? is there any specific reason, or is it not a good idea to buy insta accounts in general?
Because people follow an Instagram page because they link the content and engage with it.
If you delete all the content that they like and start blasting ads then people will unfollow because it is not the content they followed for.
You would be better of starting an Instagram page for T-shirt designs and growing it manually and buying Instagram shoutouts at a reasonable price

well niche, follower demographic, engangement rate, account age, does the account ever use bot on it, a lot to factor
btw don't take out all the content yet, just put new content, you can put your cloth design as new content after you bought it. than review it's engagnement if it's better or the same as the past content than you can start removing content little by little, as you put out new content.

Well the thing is that we wouldn't be blasting our own clothing.

My friend does not make the kind of clothing that can be mass produced just yet. More like unique pieces, so we were thinking of slowly putting a post of two of his, seeing the engagement, while continuing posting some of the posts that the person had.

The point would be to sell like 5-6 pieces that he has. He sells them in the upper hundreds so we aren't looking for high numbers.

Also could allow other revenue streams and collabs with others.

You know of any methods we can use to see how much an account like that should be purchased for?

yeah, that's what i was planning. Thanks!

You know any specifics of how i can know im not being ripped off for the account? 2.5% conversion (idk the rest yet). $100? $1000?

Well you should make sure the rest first, that way you won't get ripped off, I suggest you do some research in the marketplace or other site, how much they sell for ig acc. I think price for good ig acc will rise thought, since there are massive ban happening right now. Pic got deleted etc2

You would loose most followers of the account, if you started removing pix. Are there fashion post on the account now or just hot girls pix ? If there aren't fashion post , make the seller post some fashion pictures that looks like your friends designs and see the engagement on the photos, that way you can guage the real engagement of the account and if they would appreciate fashion post the kind that you would be posting.

2.5% is 'alright' for an account of that size, but I wouldn't call it good. A rule of thumb is $10 per 1k followers, so $1000 in this case. But like others have said, be careful wirh changing what an account posts. Maybe continue posting the same stuff and sprinkle the clothes promotion posts in sometimes? Then you'll see how much traction they get and if you can switch to them completely.
