So I've been searching all night trying to learn how to use Xenu. I'm trying to use it to check to see if the urls I have are expired,or no longer active.

When I import my txt files that I'd like for it to check, it doesn't check just the url it checks everything.

So rather than checking 10125 urls, it jumps up to 24586, and keeps climbing. It's only just domain.com, but its looking up stuff like domain.com/xyz/cfg or domain.com/rss. Because of this it takes quite sometime for it to actually complete.

I don't need that extra stuff, I just want to see is it active.

I've been messing around with the settings, and still haven't been able to figure it out.

Is their a way around this, or is it just how the program works?

    Thanks

In case someone is still looking for a fix to this issue. I spent some time to figure it out so here it goes:

    Options > Preferences > Maximum depth: 0

And you are good to go.
