How to use Xenu for expired domains?

So rather than checking 10125 urls, it jumps up to 24586, and keeps climbing. It's only just domain.com, but its looking up stuff like domain.com/xyz/cfg or domain.com/rss. Because of this it takes quite sometime for it to actually complete.

I don't need that extra stuff, I just want to see is it active.

I've been messing around with the settings, and still haven't been able to figure it out.

Is their a way around this, or is it just how the program works?
