how to use proxy for instagram app?

As a rule, for Instagram and other social media platforms, mobile proxies are the most reliable option. However, residential proxies can also work if you have a high-quality provider.

Regarding the “how to use” part -- you’ll need to explain more clearly what exactly you’re trying to do, because there are many possible scenarios.
Most likely, you want to create multiple Instagram accounts and perform different activities from each one? In that case, in addition to proxies, you’ll need an anti-detect browser where you can set up several profiles for different IG accounts.

So, if you’re looking for advice here, please share more context.

really appreciate.
i just want to be anonymous most importantly. and also couple of accounts making if one successful.

and residential proxy will be good?

Residential proxies or mobile proxies are best. I will suggest that you check with your provider where you are getting proxies to ask that you are using them for Instagram. So many proxies are already tainted, and some even don't work with instagram so you have to be sure. Before hand check if the proxies are working and if you can open the instagram page normally.

If everything is fine you can use the proxies with your browser, software, PC or whatever :)

If you have 10-15 accounts, then residential is fine since its static. However, if you have around 50-100 accounts, then you should look into a 4g proxy with ISP rotation.

Go into your phone’s settings and find the proxy option under your Wi-Fi network. Just enter the proxy details there.

How many Instagram accounts are you planning to run? If it’s more than one, mobile proxies are your best bet. They route your connection through real mobile networks, so it looks just like any normal user scrolling through the app.

Use a 4G Mobile proxy directly on your phone, there are several proxy providers on this forum's marketplace

appreciate guys

Head to your phone’s Wi-Fi settings, pick your network, and under Advanced enter the proxy IP and port. Residential proxies are ideal, they act like real home connections and stay more reliable.

ig is mostly mobile-based, so using mobile proxies is probably the best option, especially if you pair them with an actual phone. but if you're running accounts on desktop, you can still go with residential proxies combined with an antidetect browser like hidemyacc, multilogin or whatever you're comfortable with.
just make sure to get your proxies from a solid provider. they need to be clean. if the proxy has a spam history, you might not even get past the login screen.

You could apply it on your device's Proxy Settings. That should work just fine. If you're using anti-detect browsers, they have their own dedicated section for that sort of thing on their config settings.

If you just want to stay anonymous and run a few accounts, good residential proxies work perfectly. They look like real home users and are much more stable than datacenter IPs. Just use clean IPs and keep each account on its own proxy — you’ll be fine. Mobile proxies are great too, but for a couple of accounts, residential is enough.

Depends on your account quantity. If you have a low number of accounts, you can use residential proxies. If you have a higher number of accounts, you can use the 4G Mobile proxy directly

Yes, you can use a proxy for the Instagram app. To do it safely and manage multiple accounts without getting banned, it’s recommended to use an antidetect browser. Antidetect browsers let you assign a unique fingerprint and proxy to each account, making it much harder for Instagram to detect multiple logins from the same device.

A residential proxy is usually a good choice because it looks like a regular user’s connection, reducing the risk of account blocks compared to data center proxies. Combined with an antidetect browser, it’s one of the safest ways to run Instagram accounts.

On Instagram app you usually need a system wide or VPN mode proxy since in app settings alone won’t route traffic. I’ve done this with SOCKS5 via tools like SocksDroid on Android and services like Proxytee worked fine for keeping sessions stable without constant relogins.

For iphone i recommend the app potatso, it's easy to use and does the trick

how many accounts are u managing? mobile proxies will be the best way to move ahead. you will need to have an overall plan to have a consistent identity to prevent triggering reviews. rotating mobile proxies regularly is not enough and can even backfire if you keep doing it during a session
