Residential proxies or mobile proxies are best. I will suggest that you check with your provider where you are getting proxies to ask that you are using them for Instagram. So many proxies are already tainted, and some even don't work with instagram so you have to be sure. Before hand check if the proxies are working and if you can open the instagram page normally.

If everything is fine you can use the proxies with your browser, software, PC or whatever :)
 
If you have 10-15 accounts, then residential is fine since its static. However, if you have around 50-100 accounts, then you should look into a 4g proxy with ISP rotation.

ig is mostly mobile-based, so using mobile proxies is probably the best option, especially if you pair them with an actual phone. but if you're running accounts on desktop, you can still go with residential proxies combined with an antidetect browser like hidemyacc, multilogin or whatever you're comfortable with.
just make sure to get your proxies from a solid provider. they need to be clean. if the proxy has a spam history, you might not even get past the login screen.

On Instagram app you usually need a system wide or VPN mode proxy since in app settings alone won’t route traffic. I’ve done this with SOCKS5 via tools like SocksDroid on Android and services like Proxytee worked fine for keeping sessions stable without constant relogins.
 
For iphone i recommend the app potatso, it's easy to use and does the trick
 
how many accounts are u managing? mobile proxies will be the best way to move ahead. you will need to have an overall plan to have a consistent identity to prevent triggering reviews. rotating mobile proxies regularly is not enough and can even backfire if you keep doing it during a session
