I have a hard time wrapping my head around how I am suppose to use smartlinks, compared to say a regular banner ads like I can have with other ad networks.

It is just a link, so am I supposed to create a banner myself for my website (and showing what??) in order to link to their smartlink?

How do people use it? I would really like to see some examples.

Do you just write some link href with anchor text "Sexy cams" opening in new page, and that's it you hope your users will click on it?

I also hear people use them outside of the context of websites, such as in instagram, again I dont picture how the hell are they promoting their link. "Hey you want to see some xxx? go to that link! -> smartlink (that they have no idea where the user will be taken to)".

Please enlighten me!

Smartlink is only useful when you have a lot of unfiltered traffic. You don't know what to do with them, so you let the agency to decide it. If you have a micro-niche site, you can promote targeted ads. If all you have is trash traffic, then it doesn't really matter. You just have to find a way to make some money instead of wasting them.

Thank you, it makes sense. So it's basically to monetize traffic you don't wanna waste.

How would you show your links to that traffic though? Just regular hrefs? A banner? Custom made popunder? I don't visualize how people do it.

It depends on whether you want repeat users or not. Popunder has good conversion but it'll kill your user retention. Most people just leave the site that has popunder ads. Banner ads are good for sites that have some activity like scrolling, clicks, etc. The href links only work if the users read content and want to know more. So, you need to find a balance whether to push a ton of ads and quickly make as much as you can or to retain users and slowly get returns over time.

Hey everyone! I know some of you have been curious about how smartlinks work. Basically, you place them in relevant contexts—like here in this forum —and they automatically direct users to the best offer based on their interests. For example, when I share a smartlink like this one, it will lead you to a personalized offer that’s most relevant to you!

How to Use Smartlinks on Your Website?

1. Decide where your audience is most likely to engage with the smartlink. This could be within a blog post, on a social media page, Telegram, or in a Forum thread like this one.
2. Use a CTA that aligns with your content and encourages clicks. For example, "Check out today’s top deals" or "Discover our recommended products."
3. Add the smartlink to your chosen placement, whether it’s a button, pop-up, or text link (by Adnetwork like AdMaven or others). When users click, the smartlink automatically directs them to the best available offer tailored to their profile, increasing the likelihood of conversions.
