how to use images from fandom wiki properly

I know that Fandom is not a wikimedia project and is thus not affiliated with wikipedia and that they are a for-profit company.
as I understood is that they have user which create content for them for free. I gues because its not supervised that the probably do not own the rights to the used media on their fandom wikis.

so is it ok to use the images which are on the fandom pages, too?

Gotta say that I have. But maybe if you can change the pic a lttle so its not exactly the same (not sure how much of a change is needed. Make sure the pics name is not the same as well.
