There are sites that allow tracking total traffic for any site. They are not 100 % correct though.

Yes friend, it is possible to analysis the traffic of competitors and it is much more useful for SEO strategy. For this, you can use tools like SimilarWeb, SEMrush, Ahref and so on. You can know about their top pages, source of visitors, traffic volumes, ranking keywords and backlink profiles. Beside these, you can find many information using Google SERP, Social media and Content Gap Analysis. You can take the time to analyze and rank your sites well.

You can track competitor traffic using tools like SimilarWeb, Ahrefs, or SEMrush. They show traffic sources, top pages, and keywords.

I use SimilarWeb to get an idea for the social traffic my competitors are generating.

For SEO traffic- I use both the Semrush and Ahrefs. Semrush is cheaper option.

People are not mentioning this ''old friend''. I still use ''Spyfu'' to spy on my competitors' traffic. It's cheaper and gets the job done pretty well.

If you want exact numbers just ask your competitors. Tell them you are collecting data for research or be honest with them. There are many people writing about different tools, but none of them reflect reality and the difference with real traffic can easily reach up to 50-60%. I would advise you to focus more on keywords and how much traffic comes to them per month by region. Further on CTR to determine the approximate amount.

If you’re counting on free tools, unfortunately, the options will be quite limited. For example, with the free version of Ahrefs, you can only monitor your own website. But if you’re considering paid tools, Ahrefs or SE Ranking are great options for a wider range of tasks.

Similarweb – Provides estimates of traffic sources, visit duration, and audience interests.

SEMrush / Ahrefs – Analyze organic search traffic, keywords, and backlinks of competitor sites.

Google Ads Transparency Center – Shows ads your competitors are running.

Social Media Monitoring – Tools like BuzzSumo or Sprout Social track engagement and content performance.

BuiltWith / Wappalyzer – Reveal tech stack and marketing tools used by competitors.

Using Semrush or Ahrefs, you can find where the traffic comes from, but not the exact Traffic numbers.

Yeah, it’s possible but not 100% accurate. Tools like SimilarWeb, Ahrefs, and Semrush can give decent traffic estimates for competitors. You can also check their top pages, traffic sources, and keywords to reverse engineer their strategy.

I would suggest Ahrefs or semrush, im pretty sure no tools that can give really accurate track, unless you have access inside of your competitors sites
