How to test proxies

Hey,
I can get lots of proxies, but 99% of them are not working in g00gle, how do I test them to know which ones will work on a program on g00gle?

Just google free proxy checker.

ya I can check them ok, and many work, but I mean specifically for g00gle. I will try your recommendations TheMatrix
