How to start practicing SEO?

Okay I plan on creating a blog (don't know what it will be about, but may be economic development in Afghanistan or something) and have that to start SEO. Can you give me some tips on starting and learning enough in order to optimize local websites? I got a client for $300 a month and I don't even know what I'm doing. I read some posts here and around and called a local landscaping service and they actually bought it.

Ignore the client. I haven't been paid, I was just wondering if this was a good market to devote time and resources too. Looks like there's a pretty lucrative market out there. I have been social engineering my entire living for the past 3 years, so I'm a good talker. I want to change that for something good.

What about selling for a SEO service since it sounds like you are good at sales but lacking knowledge in actual SEO? That might be a better fit for your skill set.

Great, another SEO noob with clients.

Somebody is paying you $300p/m and you have no clue?
Bet you will end up spending $50 on fiverr and hope for the best eh?

OK maybe a little harsh, it is great that you persuaded somebody to take you on but at this stage you will need to re-sell somebody else's service until you have the required knowledge.

Has your client dealt with anybody previously? They may require more than $300p/m SEO.

If you are a good talker then it might be wise to do your research on a few SEO companies and what services they offer then re-sell the service or sell them the leads you get.

Don't attempt doing the work yourself at this point as you could f@ck the clients business.

Good Luck

OP - write an eBook on how to land these brain dead clients. You will make millions.

So work for a SEO company in sales?
Exactly.. You will generate revenue for a company that can actually help the client and, if you are lucky, will hook up with a SEO company that may teach you a little about SEO.

If you don't believe me then fine. I saw a landscaping truck outside and wrote their site down. Then I called them and told them your site could be on the first page of google when people search "landscaping services city1". He gave me some bullcrap about not enough money then I told him you get 10-15 laser-targeted potential clients in a week, at least 2 of them will convert and use your service. Then he was like I got someone doing this. I told him you have two options: A: Keep using that shitty service and be on like page 5 of google;B: Go with me and get to page one of google in a matter of months. Gave him a sense of urgency.

We didn't finalize anything, so don't be like I stole the guy's money.

If you can do that all day long I would hire you and pay you very well... ofc, the language you have in there is not acceptable but I am sure that you didn't actual use that but you did hit on some key actions and phrases so it is clear you can sell.

Definitely a sensible idea, especially if a client is paying you and you dont know what you are doing.
Strike up a deal with someone on BHW and resell SEO services from someone who knows what they are doing.

That way you get the sales (which it sounds like you are good at) someone else does the work and you get a cut.

Learn to do SEO on your own sites if it interests you, and when you have mastered it, you can start servicing clients by yourself (and make more money of course).

This is blackhatworld and so I'm not sure why so many people are so butthurt by your post. It's probably because you are presenting yourself as incompetent.

Since you don't have any idea what you're doing, then I would recommend searching, and reading AND applying some of the info sticky posted on here. That would be better than jumping in here and asking and expecting people to hold your hand.

Then, after you read about SEO AND apply it, then come back and ask specifics if you need help. That way you might actually get some constructive advice.

And sounds like you've committed yourself to 10 leads a week for your $300 a month budget, so get cracking on it homie.

Find a service that promises to rank for 200$ and hope for the best :D

Use the spare 100$ to run away just in case

Although this would be full black hat style

I was going to say the same thing. Just find some one to do it for you for less. Isn't that what contractors do anyway?

Depends on your budget. There are some cheap courses online to start with. I myself started off reading from all major IM forums, blogs, social media etc etc... if you have interest and passion in it, you will do anything to get that knowledge.
