I agree with you, but you can still find ideas using advanced tools. You can choose to use them if you want.

So for those type of sites, would you be rewriting other people's reviews on the applications? Presumably so that you do not have to actually buy/test the app yourself?

Agreed. I’ll look for an evergreen niche with long-term depth (100+ article potential), steady news or updates for refreshing content, and validate it with research to make sure competition isn’t too saturated.
